I ummed and aahed about getting this because I'd read Eat Like A Gilmore, but I love how pretty this looks on my bookshelf in my growing 'official' cookbook collection. Gift this book to the Gilmore Girls lover in your life, along with a Luke’s Diner Apron, which comes as part of a set. For the ultimate Gilmore Girl fan. This is a fun cookbook that is more than just recipes. I loved revisiting this top 5 favorite show of mine through this cookbook.

So, this isn’t just a cookbook. No siree bub. Before we swan dive into those recipes we get schooled on the oh so noteworthy folks of Stars Hollow. Then we get a cute little Gilmore Romance Tree (similar to a family tree). Adorable! I Swear by OXO’s Angled Measuring Cups Because I Never Have to ‘Crouch Down to Eye Level’ To MeasureAgainSo so fun. Food is such a central part of the entire series. They did such a good job to include the iconic foods of the show. The blurbs before each recipe were so fun and evoked memories from so many fun scenes. I haven’t tried any recipes but they seem thought out and delicious. It’s a beautiful book perfect for any GG lover. Craig and Mulrooney conclude “Gilmore Girls: The Official Cookbook” with fortifications including dietary considerations regarding the original preparations, glossary of terms, measurement conversions and a space for reader notes. I used to be a big fan of Gilmore Girls but stopped watching the last few seasons when it became super melodramatic; Christopher kept showing up and everyone was getting married or didn't know they had a child. Mix salmon filling: In a food processor, add salmon, dill, lemon juice, and cayenne pepper. Process until a coarse paste forms. Add mustard and cheese. Process until the mixture is smooth. Set aside. Lorelai and Rory were often mistaken for sisters, and not just because Lorelai was 16 when she had her daughter. Lorelai’s comfy but chic style is the stuff of mom goals everywhere, so it’s no wonder that Rory sometimes raided her closet. Invoke her fall style as you too wait for the first big snowfall with an oversized knit sweater that easily transitions into the winter season with the addition of a scarf and boots.

Dear reader, I’m not proud to say that my first reaction to this information was fear. Change is tough for me, and while this is happy news, it also represents such a massive change that I almost didn’t know how to process it. Though the circumstances were quite different, I found myself unmoored in much the same way I did in those days when Gilmore Girls first entered my life. Once you’ve decided what you’ll be whipping up in the kitchen, you’ll need a themed drink to go with it. You’ll find recipes for Emily’s Tailgate Bloody Marys, The Rory Drink, and Gin Martini No Onion. But don’t worry if you’re not sure which scene each of these recipes are referring to, because the cookbook is filled with descriptions to help you relive the seven seasons. One of the many gems in Stars Hollow is Luke’s Diner, where Luke Danes (Scott Patterson) serves up eggs, burgers, and donuts with a side of dry wit. It should come as no surprise that the cookbook is filled with diner-inspired bites, including the Classic Luke’s Diner Cheeseburger, Santa Burger, and tips on brewing a strong cup of coffee. You’ll feel like a regular, just like Lorelai and Rory.

Tastes Like Schmidt: The Unofficial New Girl Cookbook: Recipes from the Loft

Gilmore Girls: The Official Cookbook features dishes from every corner of Stars Hollow and beyond, including the Dragonfly Inn, Weston’s Bakery, Al’s Pancake World, Luke’s Diner, and Emily and Richard’s dinner table . Fans will delight in recreating iconic dishes from the beloved series, such as Sookie’s Risotto, Mrs. Kim’s Flaxseed Muffins, Luke’s Cheeseburger and Fries, and, of course, the perfect cup of coffee! This official cookbook also includes clever cooking tips from Sookie, hosting tips from Michel, etiquette tips from Emily Gilmore, and the wisdom from Lorelai and Rory for cooking fast and talking faster. How Carolyn Taylor’s Teen Dreams of Olympic Skating — and Katarina Witt — Resulted in New Crave Comedy ‘I Have Nothing’ Ponder the big questions like, “why did Sookie keep 52 watermelons above dishwasher in her kitchen” while running errands with your Doose’s market reusable bag. I loved that this isn't *just* a cookbook. Alongside the recipes are all your favourite people from Stars Hollow. It's similar to going home again, where the coffee is hot and the company is comforting. For the grand finale of my “eating like a Gilmore Girl” experiment, I had decided to make not just a Luke’s Diner burger, but the famous Luke’s Diner Santa Burger (pg. 25). This particular burger has a brief but stunning cameo in season one, episode ten, the first of what could be thought of as the Gilmore Girls Christmas episodes.

Anyone familiar with “ Gilmore Girls” knows that food plays just as big a part in the show’s storylines as Rory and Lorelai’s constant rotation of love interests and the absurdly entertaining residents of Stars Hallow. I’m definitely not the cook in this family. So why on earth am I reading and reviewing a cookbook? Well, because it’s GILMORE GIRLS, of course! Mention the early 2000s Amy Sherman-Palladino episodic series “Gilmore Girls” and most every woman in their late 30s/early 40s will brighten with glee. This demographic is still binge viewing the show for the 800th time even 20 years later. It’s me. I’m one of these women. I was/am utterly obsessed with “Gilmore Girls” and was living a parallel life with the character of bookish Rory as I was the exact age as Alexis Bledel’s on-screen teenager during the show’s airing. Flash forward 20 years and I have now surpassed her mother, Lorelai, in age (head trip!) played by Lauren Graham. One of the reoccurring themes of the spit-fire, fast-talking show set in fictional Stars Hollow, Connecticut is: food. From junk food eating Rory and Lorelai, Luke’s Diner, Friday night dinners with Richard and Emily and everything in between; the Gilmores loved to eat! Fans can take a food journey with GG in, “Gilmore Girls: The Official Cookbook” collaborated by Elena P. Craig and Kristen Mulrooney.Over its seven-season run, Rory was seen with her nose in more than 300 different novels. Those are some pretty serious literary ambitions, but if you want to brush up on your own required reading list like the Yale graduate, this motivational poster details exactly which novels you should invest your time in. Hang it up in your Gilmore-inspired reading nook, or perhaps in a home office or dorm room, and find pretty inspiration the next time you’re looking for a good read.

The recipes are broken down according to location; from what the Dragonfly Inn would offer (fancy dishes thanks to Sookie) to what you'll find at Luke's (lots of coffee, pancakes, burgers and fries) or at the Gilmore girls (lots of frozen foods). Nearly 15 years have passed since the hit show aired its final season in 2007 but it boasts impressive lasting power with the original fans that watched from the beginning, in addition to a new cohort that were introduced to the the beloved Gilmore clan and their rapid-fire dialogue when it hit Netflix in 2014.Both the very first scene and very last shot of “Gilmore Girls” starts off in Luke’s Diner, a mainstay of the set that remains home to some of the most memorable scenes throughout all seven seasons. It’s from behind the counter that Luke finds out about his long-lost daughter for the first time, and on the floor that Lorelai proposes to Luke in a hasty but heartfelt moment. It’s also where Luke’s sister Liz gets danced on by a stripper during her bachelorette party, and in an unfortunate turn of events, even becomes the collateral damage of Kirk’s infamous car crash. Celebrate the beloved Luke’s diner with this gorgeous print.
