Description

To use the heat belt, simply tighten it around the brewing barrel/fermenter and adjust the position to achieve the desired temperature. Simple in design and ease of use, it's the perfect solution for maintaining a consistent temperature and producing high-quality beer. Like a previous reviewer, mine also appears to have burnt out after initially plugging in to use on my first brew since purchasing. I'm afraid my alternative to the kitchen would be my shed which gets way too cold even with a heater.

A brew belt applies heat in a smaller surface area but directly on the fermenting wort or must rather than the yeast which you may or may not be better. Please do not throw away any broken goods until we have confirmed it is ok to do so as sometimes the couriers ask for the goods as part of their investigations. I cut the plug off to feed the cable into the Ferm-fridge – and found the wires were red and white instead of brown and blue.

I cut it open to take a look and there looks to be burn marks on the wiring where it has disconnected (see image). This great heater belt for home brewing comes with a variable temperature dial control and is suitable for 1 gallon demijohns to 33 litre fermenters. This is a heating belt that goes around your keg or other fermenters to keep it warm so your yeast ferments at its preferred temperature. When I use them I cycle them on and off with a thermostat so they are not on constantly but I would assume they have build in safety features to prevent overheating. The lower the belt is positioned on the fermenting container, the higher the wort or must temperature will rise.

Some electric heat pads have automatic shut-off features, which turn off the pad after a specific time to prevent overheating or accidents. Space-Saving: The heat belt heater is a small, compact device that takes up very little space, making it ideal for small brewing setups. With regards to the last point a means of moderating the heat output can be a very good way to ensure the fermenter stays exactly in the range you want.I've got a master plan to use my old chest freezer (whats not plugged in) in the garage and put a thermostat inside it and I've also put a tropical heat pad around the inside wall to bring the heat to the required temperature! Silas Wegg wrote: I only intend switching it on at night when my kitchen (where my fermenter sits) can get quite cold, but during the day is warmer. Easy to Use: The heat belt heater is simple to use and requires no complicated setup or installation. Mine are the pretty much the same as above, I have two FVs in the garage suitable wrapped up but with a Brew Belt around the base of each, individually controlled, one with a home built STC and one using a Inkbird, both holding close to 20C in an ambient of between 7 - 11 at the moment.
