Friends of Beaconsfield High School
Beaconsfield High School has an active Parents Association called the Friends of Beaconsfield High School (FoBHS)
The FoBHS provides a link between parents and the school and organises various events throughout the year serving the dual purpose of strengthening the social bonds between parents and raising funds to provide extra items for the students of the school.
The regular events organised and run by the FoBHS are:
- The Christmas Fair
- Discos for Year 7 and 8 only - The dates are 21 March 2014 and 6 June 2014
- Second Hand Uniform Sales – the shop is open every Friday lunch time at school
- Becky High Hundreds Club
- Marshalling at the Fun Run with other community schools
- FoBHS Golf Day – date confirmed as Friday 13th June 2014
- Bar Service provision at School events
Over the last year we organised a dinner at a local Indian restaurant, Basmati, and a Magic show featuring Morgan & West - the Time Travelling Magicians.
Over the past few years the FoBHS has generated sufficient funds to help finance major projects such as purchasing a mini bus and paying for building works. It has also helped provide a host of smaller items and opportunities to benefit the students, including entry to drama competitions, kits for sports squads, equipment for the maths department and ICT, a new PA system for the School hall, refurbishment of the Tower Block toilets, new signs around the school and new furniture for the Learning Resource centre.
Our projects for the next Academic year (2013/2014) are:
Upgrading the Reception area, enabling us to better display student work and relate news to students, parents and visitors
Extending the Wi-Fi provision to include the whole school community
WE NEED YOU!
The FoBHS committee meets once each term to plan events and consider “wish list” bids from the school. We would love to hear from you with any ideas to raise even more funds for the school whilst enhancing the relationships in the school community.
