Overall, this is a great sounding box. Maybe the 1980 box will sound better, but it doesn’t have these great covers so I guess nobody wins. I highly recommend this box to anyone who does not have any stereo pressings.

The Continuing Story Of Bungalow Bill - appears as it does on The Beatles ("white album"), minus the opening guitar obbligato. Please Please Me had a -2/-2 cutting and was honestly not the best. It felt like a thin wall was covering the music. I put on an A2/B2 german pressing of Please Please Me and finally heard what others were claiming when they said this cutting was a revelation. Not a good start but it didnt sound like dung. Would even take the MFSL pressing over this though. P.S.I Love You should have been * listed as mono it's not and of course the forever mono mystery of She Loves You,

There are a lot of options around the world of great sounding reissues and some of the original stampers stayed in production for many years, with the original cutting engineers recutting into the 1980s! Then there is always the option of spending top dollar on original UK pressings (which are near impossible to find in NM condition). In 2014, five years after the initial CD release, mono editions of each of the albums were released individually in vinyl format, though the mono editions for CD were still available only in the box set. All of the USA albums were released individually on CDs containing both the mono and original stereo mixes; this is the only other way to acquire the mono mixes on CD.
