This device has a pro timer. Now, experience two minutes of dentist-recommended tooth brushing daily. You can even replace the head of the toothbrush for superior cleaning. Specifications and cleaning ability are the same on the variants. What differs is the exact model name, the brush head supplied, the colour of the rubber grip on the handle and the box contents.

The Pro 1000 has a more minimalistic design. A small rubber grip around the power button compared to the large rubber grip running the full length of the Pro 2 2000’s handle. In toothbrushes it seems the new modern tech way is the best/better… Some things like shaving are better the old school way (safety razor wet shaving). My opinion. The slight downside is that the textured rubber surface makes it easier for toothpaste residue to build up. Without regular cleaning, I have found a white coating appears. A pressure sensor is built into both of these models. However, only the Pro 2 has a visible pressure sensor. Design aside, they do the same job. When the sensor is activated they both light up red to alert you that you are brushing too hard. Reduce the pressure and the lights go out.

After 2 minutes the alert changes slightly to tell you that you have brushed for long enough. Unlike some brushes, the Pro 2 doesn’t power off automatically. This may be a disappointment to some, but it’s not a big issue. The CrossAction brush comes as standard with the Oral-B Pro 2 2500N. As the brush head size is quite small, it means that it easily accesses the most difficult of molar teeth. This in my view is the best brush head Oral-B make. This is because it has special bristles that are angled at 16 degrees, which allow it to clean close to the gum line. Pressing too hard with an electric toothbrush is fairly easy to do (I make this mistake frequently). If you press too firmly often, this can lead to a type of tooth wear known as toothbrush abrasion. This is where the bristles of the toothbrush start wearing away the enamel and dentine of the tooth, ultimately resulting in sensitivity.
