The cover depicts Denji, transformed into his Chainsaw Devil state, interlocked in combat with the Katana Man who is also transformed. The protagonist is still cluelessly sweet and creepy and ultra violent, the society is incredibly messed up, and the devil hunting organization and the hunters just get weirder. Also, subplot length is variable in number of original issues, and subplots do not fit too neatly in each collected volume.

Denji and his crew are here to settle the score with the katana devil and his cohorts for killing their teammates. Tatsuki Fujimoto's artwork seems to be slowly evolving with each volume and it's becoming even better. With a peculiar new outlook on life, Denji allows the strings of fate to pull him along for the bumpy ride. So far the craziness in the series hasn't settled down at all, in fact, it just seems to go up in every volume. Given the fact that he's only 16, it's very realistic that he has feelings for every girl that seems to be even slightly interested in him. Denji's a poor young man who'll do anything for money, even hunting down devils with his pet devil-dog Pochita.
