LG UltraGear 45GR95QE-B review: “Overwhelms my eyes in the

Thanks to OLED’s instantaneous pixel response time speed, the LG 45GR95QE delivers an incredibly responsive fast-paced gaming experience with no visible trailing artifacts or overshoot. Microsoft has just announced the latest update to Windows 11, which brings the operating system up to version 23H2. This is a cumulative update that comes with some of the most exciting features already announced in September, including Copilot, and brings some changes to Teams, among other things. Here's what's new and how to get it on your own PC.However, these are just ideal values and we find that there are no problems with the screen curvature or the pixels being too noticeable at a normal viewing distance for a monitor of this size. The screen also has a light matte anti-glare coating that prevents reflections without making the image too grainy. Visitors to LG’s booth at IFA 2022 can explore a wide range of cutting-edge LG monitor products, including the new UltraGear and the UltraFine™ Display Ergo AI (model 32UQ890), which delivers a truly customizable setup for superior user comfort at home or at the office. It’s tough recommending it for general desktop or work use due to the massive size and OLED panel, and although the size would normally make a good option for movies, the aggressive curve and specific viewing distance can kill the mood. There are also some issues with pixel density, with an ultrawide like the Alienware 34 QD-OLED offering much better clarity despite sporting the same resolution.

Admittedly, my opinion on the LG UltraGear 45GR95QE-B has changed since I wrestled with my initial unboxing. Initially, I scoffed at its ridiculous size, and my partner couldn’t quite understand why I’d swapped my usual gaming monitor out with ‘a weird shaped tele’. At a glance, that's exactly what this screen looks like, and it pretty much engulfs any spare space that used to exist on my gaming desk. Now that I’ve spent a few weeks with the display, I now feel like we owe LG’s panel an apology, as gaming TVs can only dream of matching its specs and abilities. Of course, there are other cheaper options worth considering as well, such as the Samsung Odyssey Neo G9, the LG OLED42C2, the ASUS PG27AQDM, the Acer X32FP and the Dell AW3423DWF– all of which offer excellent HDR image quality and smooth gaming performance. No one could argue that the LG UltraGear 45GR95QE isn't a top-notch gaming monitor. The high refresh rate (assuming your gaming setup can do it justice), the contrast and HDR performance of this OLED panel, the low response time and input lag, and variety of input options all combine to make this one of your best options for a gaming monitor right now. Besides the standard image settings (brightness, contrast, color temperature, etc.), the LG 45GR95QE also offers 6-axis hue/saturation, color temperature fine-tuning in 500K increments, sharpness, four gamma presets, aspect ratio control, Auto Input Switch and Picture in Picture/Picture by Picture support.

It’s hard to overstate just how big the UltraGear OLED 45 really is. It’s a 44.5-inch monitor with a 21:9 aspect ratio, but its footprint is multiplied due to the steep 800R curve. Even compared to a display like the Asus ROG PG42UQ, the UltraGear OLED 45 feels massive. LG’s exhibition booth (Hall 18, Messe Berlin) at IFA 2022 from September 2-6 will give visitors the opportunity to experience the company’s very latest consumer electronics innovations, including its new display solutions for productivity (Ergo) and entertainment/gaming (UltraGear). Using LG’s Dual Controller software, you can connect two PCs to the screen and control them via one set of keyboard and mouse, but both machines need to be connected to the same network and have the software installed.
