The Netgear Nighthawk M6 is a 5G mobile broadband router that’s available from O2 at the time of writing. we can’t watch a film on Netflix or Prime without constant buffering,so dissapointed, sadly on a 2 year contract. The solution for getting it to work properly was to change sim cards to a Smarty one, with d/l speeds of 300+Mbs and upload of 51Mbs benefits from lower latency than 4G, which should in time make for a fixed broadband-like responsive online experience. Based on the available data, you can currently expect a ping of around 20-35ms, which falls in between a decent home broadband connection (10–20ms) and a 4G broadband connection (around 35-50ms). Mine has been the same since weds. Spoken to the tech people everyday who keep assuring me it will be fixed soon. I keep thinking the same as you though, if the hub isn’t receiving a signal how can they remove the recent update?? I’ve even said it to the tech people but they just keep saying it’ll be sorted soon. Asked for a new hub but they tell me that wont fix the problem. I’m giving them until the morning then ringing to cancel.

The crucial question is do they have a so-called “fair use policy” on that unlimited tariff? I’m thinking of EE with their fast 4G/5G router and a 600MB / month limit on their “unlimited” service. Go over that and they’ll throttle and / or put you on a more expensive tariff. That’s some redefinition of “unlimited” to the point where it’s useless. Got to be an improvement on the appallingly underpowered B535-232 they previously shipped to 4G customers. Guess you need to take out a 5G contract with them to get the router though? Its superior performance is thanks to the upgraded chipset and processor, which are supported globally with 5G network configuration

Can we PLEASE get some form of update. Surely the solution is to replace the ZTE routers with Zyxel ones?!

Given the relatively new nature of 5G broadband, there aren’t an awful lot of options for 5G routers on the market. In fact, until fairly recently there was only really one, albeit rebranded by three different networks. Thankfully, the choice is a little wider now. Three 5G Home Broadband Plus, the Three 5G Hub can get up to 64 devices connected to the internet at once. That should be far more than almost anyone would need, and it’s in line with the best rival devices, like the 5GEE Router 2021(also known as the Smart 5G Hub). It’s also a lot more than the 30 connections that the previous generation of the Three 5G Hub allowed for. Alternatives If they are replacing it with another MC801A I suspect you will probably have the same issue as its suspected to be firmware related (but only affecting certain people, not everyone). In the past, James has also written for T3, Digital Camera World, Clarity Media, Smart TV Radar, and others, with work on the web, in print and on TV. Hehasa film studies degree from the University of Kent, Canterbury, and hasover a decade’s worth of professional writing experience. One potential caveat with the MC801A is that it claims to only support up to 30 WiFi users at the same time, which is quite low, and we suspect it can probably cope with more. Credits to Aaron and Barry for highlighting the new kit to us.

My question to you guys who seems to be experienced in testing different type of 5G routers is connected to the External Antenna capabilities. As I already have read and concluded that the TS9 ports to be used with external antennas on the ZTE MC801A only improves the 5G reception. I have both Smarty and a three account, and now that Smarty support 5G their service is identical to three. Same! Only Power light are on. Holding the reset button down and still only the Power light. No connection for over 5days. Called and they told me to wait till the end of the day. Absolute rubbish service. Beyond the hardware differences, you should be selecting based on price, coverage, network speeds, and data allowance. Találd meg a legmegfelelőbb helyet az asztali routerednek. Best I have achieved is 207Mb/s on a 4G+ CA connection, but theoretically you can get upwards of that, it all depends on the number of bands and their bandwidth that you an aggregate, and the quality of the signal. Only thing I can see which has changed since Sunday is an automatic firmware update at 02:30 in the morning, and i’ve had issues since. I’ve tried the device in every window now and its the same throughout.” The 5GEE Router 2021 is actually the same device as the Three 5G Hub just with EE branding, so there’s no difference here. The only choice will be based on the networks themselves – their coverage and prices.Without the sim card its unable to connect to 3,4 or 5G so should in theory not be able to “update” If you’re after 5G home broadbandthen your options are limited at the time of writing – not many networks offer it, and they typically only offer one router each. Take Three– if you want 5G home broadband on this network, then you can only get it with the Three 5G Hub(also known as the Three 5G Home Broadband Hub) currently, but that needn’t be a problem, as this is a very good device. If a Service Provider is aware on a issue, I guarantee it’s affecting a significant number of people – it wouldn’t be on their radar otherwise. This variant does NOT include antenna ports – The Router is installed outdoors where there is the strongest 5G network signal so does not need the addition of an outdoor 5G antenna.

The Vodafone GigaCube 5Gappears to bea rebranded ZTE MC888 Ultra router, which theoretically offers top speeds of 3.8Gbps, though as with other options your real world speeds will be a lot lower. I have some problems with my phone too.. 4G & 4G+. It’s on Smarty (which sits on three) so I think there is also an issue at the tower.
