Description

The HP X32, speaking of which, features a square-shaped stand with a traditional design. It also boasts a narrow bottom bezel, which isn’t the smallest in the HP lineup but is within the norm. So, while the HP X32 is more expensive than the norm and features a great panel combined with a high brightness ratio, its prices are still outside of the hybrid monitor’s price range, and as a result, we may expect a non-gamer-friendly refresh rate and response time. The highest brightness the Hp U32 monitor is capable of reaching is just amazing, and it more than compensates for the poor handling of reflections. It is 400 nits on paper, and when compared to other displays in the same class and price range that are also 400 nits bright, this one stands out. This is expected from an HDR monitor at this price range, so you can just think of it as a bonus feature that doesn’t really affect its cost. Design & Connectivity With all of this in mind, we can only assume that they opted to place a strong emphasis on the gaming features of this screen. However, keep in mind that it has a fair amount of motion blur, so you won’t find here a top-of-the-line gaming monitor.

For being made out of metal, they had ways of keeping it as slim as possible, even implementing a piece of cable passthrough plastic, all of which makes the screen look much more premium than it actually is and costs. It is very accurate straight out of the box, leaning towards the warm side of colors, but you can always make it better, even a little bit, after calibrating it yourself. That is, of course, with the brightness set to standard levels for use at night. If you increase the monitor’s brightness, which is really one of this display’s most appealing characteristics, you can resolve this problem. Brightness When someone brought up professional monitors a few years ago, we couldn’t help but fear the hurdle of the sky-high prices of such screens. Manufacturers at the time used to combine high responsiveness and professional capabilities for those monitors.

To conclude, we can say that they plainly opted not to cater to gaming styles when designing the screen’s aesthetics. If you need anything more eye-catching, they already have it with the HP X27I. Both characteristics are surely not what I expected to find on a monitor with such good image quality at such a budget price. To top it off, they’ve integrated AMD FreeSync Premium technology, which decreases screen tearing during games with an even better FPS range than the normal Freesync. We can say that this monitor offers you a respectable pre-calibration, but you won’t have the greatest sRGB 100 percent colors straight out of the box, which is fair considering the monitor’s price. But be sure to weigh this before making your decision. Keep in mind that, as it is a big 32-inch monitor, using it with a second screen may provide some challenges depending on the size of your desk. Easy-to-use controls: Your 4K monitor’s on-screen display should make it easy for you to change settings such as text size or brightness. Its buttons—whether capacitive or physical—should also be easy to use.

The Color menu offers seven presets. The default is “Photography (P3 D65),and, as the name implies, is meant for use with the DCI-P3 color space. The web and a lot of movies and streaming you’ll be doing is in SDR though, so the U28 also offers an sRGB mode, Design for the web (sRGB D65). The OSD shows values for red, green, blue, white point and gamma for those two presets, as well as for the HD video (BT.709) and Design for print (sRGB D50) presets, but they aren’t adjustable. In the end, the sRGB ratio is the one to use if you require realistic visuals since it produces more accurate colors in sRGB content, which is the most usual pattern for all media sources.Overall, we can say that with its metal stand, easily matchable colors, and slim aesthetics, this premium-looking display is a perfect one for an office setup. Connectors Color accuracy and color gamut: For any kind of photo, video, or graphics work, a monitor’s color accuracy ensures that your images look the way you intend them to when they appear on another screen or in print. The best 4K monitors come calibrated from their manufacturers and thus have better color accuracy than those that don’t. For the best image quality, your monitor should also cover as much of the sRGB color gamut as possible; the more gamut coverage a monitor provides, the wider the range of colors it can accurately represent. Coverage of the wider DCI-P3 color gamut is a plus. If you’re doing professional image work on the monitor, we recommend either calibrating it yourself or hiring a professional. Though the accuracy of factory-calibrated monitors is generally great, professional calibration can usually improve it.
