Even at its lowest density this black diffusion 1/4 filter can soft wrinkle and pores of human skin, it delivers an effective increase in the halation which adds a pleasing depth of warmth showing the delicate and hazy movie effect in images but is not transported to the skin tone values. With various densities, these filter softens hard edges, smooths skin tones, and reduces the appearance of wrinkles.

On a dreary day, I mistakingly shot with the CineBloom filter in lackluster lighting conditions and the diffusion filter made the scenes even more dreary. The technical storage or access is strictly necessary for the legitimate purpose of enabling the use of a specific service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user, or for the sole purpose of carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network. Based on my experiment, you’ll get a matte look on film during the day and the bloom effects when you’re shooting at night. If you are planning to get the Moment Cinebloom diffusion filter, you’re making the right decision, the filter does come with a nice round casing and a cleaning cloth. If you want to achieve a softer look with the skin tones, you can use the lower strength filter – and it should be good to go.I want to give a huge “Thank You” to Moment for teaming up with Fuji X Weekly to make this giveaway possible! As a result, you achieve a soft mist filter effect with an added haze from the way light interacts with the filter. I chose this particular set because the difference is obvious; oftentimes the effect is a little less apparent, especially if there is not a bright light source (such as the sun) in or near the frame. This Recipe wasn’t necessarily purposefully intended for night photography, but it shouldn’t be surprising that it does well for it. Whether you have a passion for photography, a love for travel, or simply enjoy engaging blogs, you’ve come to the right place.

I took it out on a couple of occasions during the golden hour in Stanley Park, Vancouver, and loved how the CineBloom diffusion filter made things extra dreamy, especially in heavily backlit scenarios. I have been using this diffusion filter for most of my street photography projects and portrait shoots. One of my goals with the Moment CineBloom diffusion filter was to create a more film-like experience and in certain situations, it does just that. When I first learned that Xpro ’62 was great for after-dark photography, I was actually a little surprised, because this is intended as a daylight Recipe, and on paper it doesn’t seem versatile enough to be a good nighttime option. FWIW a pair of sheer fishnet stalkings stretched over the lens and a rubber band to hold it in place gets you the same look for less than five bucks. Think stills from a motion picture, or photographs captured with cinema film that has had the Remjet layer removed.

It’s often difficult to retouch skins in video, so this filter is like magic, and softens skins and removes any harshness when you’re shooting people. Share with me your Fuji X Weekly moment, and be entered to win a CineBloom diffusion filter (details below)! The filter’s ring is made from aerospace-grade metal, designed to be thin enough to stack underneath other filters without affecting the field of view. Tiffen also offers white halation filters, such as the regular Pro-Mist filters or the Glimmerglass, that provide a similar look, but Moment filters are just as durable and currently less expensive.

With the highest strength of the diffusion filter, you would achieve an extremely dreamy and diffused image. After a period of using the 10% version of the CineBloom diffusion filter, I received a message from Joe (see below). The additional red accent to the lens also looks really nice with Nikon mirrorless or some Leica cameras which also use red in the design.
