About this deal

These two are broken, and that's why they worked so well together. I know that Scarlet was still hung up on Maddox, but I don't think she could have found a better match than Lennox. They were soulmates. Mysterious. Dark. Deadly. They say crows are bad omens, but until I met them, a single crow was my only friend.

They’re twin brothers, each one more dangerous than the other, each more irresistible. Loyal only to their crew, the Murder of Crows, they refuse to let an outsider like me get too close. i mean the book had potential at first, the plot was still shit and all (even tho it was entertaining ill give it that) and sometimes the writing makes no sense (it's tryhard purple prose) and some descriptions r confusing i couldn't set the scene but at first the characters weren't that messed up and unlikeable and i actually liked maddox. Not my favorite from this author but an enjoyable read. I’m wondering if the authors heart was in writing this book or if her fans pressured her to write this one. It’s doesn’t have that 10/10⭐️ feeling like her previous books have given me. Lennox and Maddox are the North Twins and end up in a love triangle with Rae. To be honest, I thought the whole time I found out who she was going to be with, and then I was wrong. This book literally kept me guessing until the very end. She ends up having a brother and the one she doesn’t choose gets a book of her own next. Oh Selena, that epilogue!!!!! Eeeekkkkk. I can’t wait for the next book! It felt like the ending was just rushed to have it finished and things where thrown in to make it really dark . There really should've been a proper conversation after what Maddox did but there wasn't, the things he done didn't add up to how he was throughout the whole book and I really wish the author hadn't have put it in, especially without any sort of redemption or guilt. They’re twin brothers, each one more dangerous than the other, each more irresistible. Loyal only to their crew, the Murder of Crows, they refuse to let an outsider like me get too close. That is, until they find out the abuse I suffer at home.

This book has a lot of trigger warnings for a reason and even though I don't shy away from such triggers, in this book though, it felt like it was forced in a way and didn't come naturally with the story line.

Selena really knows how to write male alpha-hole heroes that can violently hurt and fiercely protect their loved ones at the same time. Maddox, the mysterious, tattooed, six-foot-four wall of muscle who glares at me like I’m the enemy but protects me like I'm a treasure. Lennox might have started as a 'villain' but, when going deep enough, you knew he was rather an antihero with the most admirable and protective soul. The only one taking notice enough to see Scarlett for exactly what she was, a girl with a dream of becoming an actress because she had been playing a role all her life and it was the way to have the attention she so desperately needed. Scarlett was insecure due mostly to her daddy issues, a drama queen at core, a facet that would show providential for the journey ahead. Two brothers and a girl whose interest is part love, part obsession, part prize to be won. I can say that every time I write a review of Selena. She is NOT a writer for everyone because she takes things to such an extent that you really wonder how to enjoy this. I keep giving 5 stars because she keeps making me respond, whether it’s awkward or not. Plus, she has a writing style that will engulf you no matter how dark things get. And make no mistake, they get dark, twisted, disturbed and crazy. Scarlet always thought she was in love with Lennox’s brother Maddox. But we all know from book one that Maddox married Rae. Scarlet was nothing but someone that warmed his sheets and Lennox always thought that he was in love with Rae.

I want to see the fury flashing in her seafoam eyes, like some treacherous siren luring ships to their death, before she realizes she’s met her match, and that I won’t be captivated by her siren song. I want to see the savageness swept away, replaced with terror, as I strip her power and leave her at my mercy.” Have you ever had a story that you wanted to slow down because you didn’t want it to end—to savor every bit of the characters and events? Author Selena’s “Only Happy When It Rains” did just that––really, the entire Faulkner universe has made me feel this way.Maddox, the mysterious, tattooed, six-foot-four wall of muscle who glares at me like I’m the enemy, but protects me like I'm a treasure. I should have seen the omen and run, but by the time I realize that, it’s too late. My heart belongs to both men, but only one can have me. Suddenly I’m caught between them in a battle that can only end in tragedy. Maddox, the mysterious six-foot-tall tattooed muscle wall who looks at me like I’m the enemy but protects me like I’m a treasure. I mean, part of me wanted Rae to do the right thing and stay away from Lennox and Maddox because her family/twin bond isn’t worth destroying. Part of me was Team Maddox, although I wanted Lennox to have his own version of happy. Basically, Maddox (Lennox's twin) arranges for Lennox and Scarlet to be on this "vacation" together. Really it is a job that Lennox has to do, but pretending to be Maddox. Scarlet is along for the ride, so to speak. Craziness ensues involving a rival gang, some diamonds, and a mysterious island.
