For you, maybe, but not for most people. And probably not for Ross Miller.” Maya hesitated. “Look, about Christmas—I’ve already told you, you can come and spend it with Jenny and me. It’s our first Christmas in the new place. Jenny’s mother is joining us, and her brother. Not her dad because he still can’t bear seeing the two of us together and I don’t want to spend Christmas with a knot in my stomach.” I unquestionably enjoyed this book, it’s the right time of year to have a weekend festive escape and for devoted fans of Sarah or newbies to her writing will find this a joy to read and I’d happily recommend. That was my exact thought when I discovered my copy of Sarah Morgan's latest Christmas offering in my mailbox. Although I honestly don't find myself reading many romances nowadays, I'm always delighted to get my hands on the year's Christmas book from Morgan. You know it's going to have all the magic and enchantment of Christmas tied up with all the feels, both wondrous and uncertainty of romance. Cliche that it has become, it's the perfect Hallmark Christmas moment wrapped in festive paper and sparkly ribbons and given to readers as a gift. Thank you, Sarah Morgan. Lucy chose not to mention the fact that a recruiter from Fitzwilliam Cooper had approached her twice in the last month about a job.

After reading Snowed In For Christmas I want to be snowed in at the Millers house so bad. I long for a family and they are the best family to be a part of. This lodge has my name all over it and I must say, this book was unputdownable (yes that is a word) lol. Lucy thought about Arnie, sitting with his head in his hands. She thought about Ted and his new baby. About Maya spending her first Christmas in her new flat. She thought about her own situation. “I’m one step further on than motivated. I’m desperate.” Desperate for Arnie. Desperate for her colleagues. Desperate for herself. Instead we get lots of daily blah blah blah and what every character in the house is thinking except for the grandmother who was the only interesting character in the whole story. Glenda Miller, patriarch of the Miller clan was such a loving and accepting mother, but worried about driving her kids away. I loved the relationship she had with her husband and mother-in-law!I never did like Alice. The best part of the book for me was when her wannabe fiancee, Nico tells her off for how she's been treating him. Stop! If you keep reminding me of the stakes I’ll be waving goodbye to calm.” Lucy pressed her hands to her burning cheeks. “I ran the last mile. Tell me honestly, does my face look like a tomato?” Lucy managed a weak smile. His enthusiasm and warmth swept you along. You couldn’t say no to him, even if you wanted to. Once again Sarah Morgan has managed to craft the perfect festive read - it's warm and cosy, heartwarming, full of romance, a spectacular setting, a family I fell in love with, and lashings of shortbread and snow. It's everything you could wish for in a Christmas story and more.

Snowed in for Christmas is my first holiday book of 2022 but I already know this will be one of my favourites. I’ll be buying this book as a gift to each of the readers in my life to enjoy in December. Arnie was still talking. “Let’s start by looking at the positive. We are harnessing the power of social media and changing the way brands reach their customers. We are experts in influencer marketing. We are changing consumer habits—” Sarah Morgan's Christmas novels are an auto-buy for me. I love the way she writes characters, interweaving family sagas, and romantic subplots with the perfect amount of coziness. Snowed in for Christmas delivers the same thing, this time set in the Scottish Highlands with a fun twist of a character being mistaken for someone's girlfriend! Morgan could not have portrayed a more idyllic setting. Isolated by the dumpings of snow thanks to Storm Scrooge, the family are pretty much cut-off from the rest of the world. On one level, it felt like the makings of a Hallmark movie, especially as the Miller family home is described as such a perfect place to spend a family Christmas. All that was missing was a few reindeer (although they do feature at some point in the narrative too). The romances were many and all over the place. Not sure I bought them all, but there's so many characters in this book that they don't really get a chance to develop much of a depth. In fact, they all feel like the supporting cast to the actual main character - which is Christmas itself. An uninvited guest
Lucy Clarke is facing a Christmas alone, and the prospect of losing her job unless she can win a major piece of business from Ross Miller. She’ll deliver her proposal to his family home in the Scottish Highlands and then leave. After all, she wouldn’t want to intrude on the Miller’s perfect family Christmas. This story gave me all of the feels. The author added so much to this crazy family story. She captured it all perfectly with all of the chaos. Grandma saying whatever she wants. People are on edge trying not to spill secrets. It all sounds so familiar! I have even been the outsider at someone’s Christmas day celebration, so I get that one… Never again! Rhea reached out and smoothed a strand of hair out of Lucy’s eyes. “You look calmer than the rest of us. We’re all in a state of panic. Maya has just bought her first flat. Ted’s wife is expecting their first baby any day.”

A train set is a great choice. We’ll take the delivery. Now go. Ask Rhea to call you a cab. You need to get to the hospital as fast as possible.”Alice Miller, an ER doctor who loves her job, bringing a boyfriend home for the first time and anxious about the message it sends and assumptions her family will make. Alice may be good at her job, but not so great with personal relationships, which puts her romance in jeopardy. Lucy Clarke is facing a Christmas alone, and the prospect of losing her job – unless she can win a major piece of business from Ross Miller. She’ll deliver her proposal to his family home in the Scottish Highlands, and then leave. After all, she wouldn’t want to intrude on the Miller’s perfect family Christmas. She thought about the fun they all had in the office. The laughter. Late-night pizza when they were preparing a pitch. Friday fizz when they had something to celebrate. The camaraderie and the friendship. She knew she’d never forget the support her colleagues had given her during what had undoubtedly been the worst couple of years of her life. I have read other stuff by this author that I quite enjoyed, but this isn't the only one I didn't like either. So, Oh well. But her priority right now was the company, which meant she would have to go to Scotland. Unless she could find reindeer closer to home. The zoo? Maybe she could persuade the client to switch the reindeer for a llama. Alpaca? Large sheep? Her mind wandered and then someone’s phone pinged.

The best part about a Christmas Romance is that you know you are going to get a Happily Ever After. I love these type of stories, especially in a holiday setting. What better place for it to happen but in the Scottish Highlands at Christmas in a snowstorm. The Miller family was intriguing on its own but I also found Lucy to be a compelling character who yearned for family and relationship. I always look forward to the author’s annual holiday stories and this one just kept me in my happy place. She nailed the family issues and softened them by adding comic relief through Nanna Jean, though underneath all her shenanigans was sage wisdom. The romances were complicated but I rooted for all of them. This was a wonderful listening experience to prime me for the upcoming holiday season.Sunday Times bestselling author Sarah Morgan writes romance and contemporary women's fiction and her trademark humour and warmth have gained her fans across the globe. She has sold over twenty-one million books worldwide. If you can't tell I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Please don't make me wait another 6 months or so for another Sarah Morgan release, please write faster! Maya was leaning against the wall, swallowing down an entire cup of water. “Sorry.” She stood to one side when she saw Lucy. “Fear makes me thirsty. I’m pretending this is gin. What are we going to do?” Clemmie Miller, youngest of the Miller children, a child-care specialist with a big announcement she’s nervous to share. Her romance was one of unrequited love, one of my favorite tropes! She could see all of them gathered around the table, Arnie standing at the head wearing the same red sweater he always wore when he wanted to be festive.
