When I first joined the Chili Peppers Ibanez was really friendly and gave me the wah pedal along with two or three guitars. I played the guitars for a while but the band—by which I mean Anthony and Flea—was totally against it, and so when I switched to playing Fender Stratocasters I smashed the Ibanez guitars on stage just to make them happy—but I definitely kept the wah pedal! How John Frusciante Got His Red Hot Wah Tones You should get an instant answer on whether your application has been successful, though in some rare cases Klarna or V12 may need to look at the application in more detail. The only redeeming quality of this pedal, like the original, is that it sounds quite good. However it's not a clone of the original with some added features, it is a different pedal altogether (though it sounds quite similar).

It’s worth noting that John uses the vintage models, which are made of plastic ( the newer version is metal) and are easily breakable. In the interview above John mentions that he broke a few and was left with just one at the point when he left the band after Stadium Arcadium. I have an Ibanez wah-wah pedal because it has a wider range than the others. I use a Fuzzface and a Boss distortion pedal, and an MXR phase shifter, and that’s about it. Guitar (UK), February 1991 Additionally, the mix of the two frequency peaks can be controlled via the balance knob on the side of the pedal, inspiring enriched levels of sonic experimentation with this exciting and entirely new pedal from Ibanez. Key Features The Ibanez Tubescreamer is one of the most revered overdrive pedals in existence. Countless players have made their name with a Tubescreamer as part of their signature sound. Lustre

True Bypass– Use the Ibanez Twin Peaks as part of your signal chain without muddying up your tonal quality. Over the years, John tried experimenting with Dunlop Crybaby Wahs, but it seems that nothing really managed to replace the WH10. Only the Vintage Models

The one I was sent had a switch that gave out after just a few weeks of heavy daily use (no mishandling). The switch chosen here is probably just the wrong one for the job. There's a little chairfoot-like cushion bit over the switch that comes off extremely easily and has to be reglued. Previous versions were beta testing compared to this new premium version of the Ibanez WH10. Sturdy build, funky sharp wah-wah sound and functions you can't normally find on Wah pedals in this price range. To me, this iteration is for sure, the most satisfying the WH10 will ever be. Great for funk, blues and even metal (Hendrix, Frusciante, even Vai). As far as the origin story, John was given this pedal by Ibanez, alongside two guitars, all of which he used for a brief time when he first joined the band in 1988. He ended up smashing the guitars and keeping the wah. On the side of the pedal, you can control the amount of Wah effect coming through with the level knob, and a tone switch which switches from high to low.

The Ibanez Twin Peaks is a new Wah pedal unlike any other pedal before it! Most standard Wah pedals are built using a single peak point to achieve the effect, but the Twin Peaks doubles down on this sound by utilizing dual peak points at a higher and lower frequency.

If an item can not be repaired, a similar alternative product or cash discount (as defined in this policy) will be offered However, the Gear4music extended warranty scheme provides an enhanced service, and is designed to offer a higher level of protection than many 'free' warranties offered by some retailers and manufacturers. For customers in outlying areas of the country, the price of the Extended Warranty may be marginally higher, due to the potential for higher collection and redelivery transport costs.

This is John’s main Wah pedal, and the one that he has been using consistently with the Peppers, ever since joining the band. He explained that he prefers this pedal over something like a Dunlop CryBaby because Ibanez has a wider frequency range. Please note that this extended warranty is currently only available on products sold within the UK, EU or EEA, and is subject to the terms and conditions as detailed on the extended warranty certificate provided.
