Description

The 0.33ohm TFV18 Meshed Coil is tightly compact with the cotton inside, better to release a mellow flavour. The 0.15ohm TFV18 Dual Mesh Coil is a dual mesh coil for optimized taste, accelerating heating and produce denser vapor. Both coils are designed for direct lung vaping. For 0.33ohm and 0.15ohm coil configurations, the best performance occurs around 100-110W. Consequently Smok catapulted to the top of the vaping industry with this one giant leap in pre-built coil structure.

Smok’s reputation is getting better and better, I love their designs and it’s nice to see they have calmed down on the silliness and concentrated on quality and coil development. It’s time I placed my cards on the table and gave an honest assessment of what I personally experience with the product. What Can We Expect From the Smok TFV18 Sub Ohm Tank? I went to the lowest end of the recommended wattage range, vaping at 100W which to be honest is well outside my personal comfort zone. Such is the power of these coils I have no other option. Add your favourite e-liquid through the slot, paying attention not to drip it in the central airflow tube. There’s no doubting the Smok TFV18 is a heavy bugger and a lot of the weight can be attributed to the design of the child proof top cap mechanism.

SMOK MESH TFV18 COILS 0.33OHM RBA – COMPATIBLE WITH TFV16 TANK

I think the single mesh coil gave me just that added bit of authenticity when it came to flavour reproduction. As an added bonus, nothing was lost even with the most airy of vapes and that really impressed me. Of course we’ve been here many times before with the tank design not to mention large coils, it all does feel very familiar. It wasn’t until the emergence of sub ohm tanks in 2015 that they really began to make a name for themselves. Now we move to the triple bottom adjustable airflow and when fully open the cyclops style slots measure 11.5mm. You can probably imagine the amount of airflow when tripling that measurement! I would have to say that as a full, open and airy vape there’s still around 10% more restriction than found with the single mesh coil.

Let’s put it this way, the 0.33ohm single mesh coil clearly favours and indeed craves airflow for optimal performance. Smok TFV18 – 0.15ohm Dual mesh coil 80-140W (Best 100-110W) Utilising the excellent conductivity of copper, the TFV18 Mini features 5 braces on its base to efficiently transfer the power to the coil for circular and faster heating.Starting at the top there’s a wide bore (10mm) replaceable Delrin drip tip. When slipped over the dual O rings incorporated into the top cap it measures around 12mm in height. When working with Li-ion (Lithium-ion), LiPo (Lithium-ion Polymer) and any rechargeable cells, please be cautious and carefully use as they are very sensitive to charging characteristics and may explode or burn if mishandled. Please make sure that you have great knowledge on all rechargeable batteries before you use them. Always charge batteries at the clean and fire-proof surface. Never leave charging batteries unattended. If you see that there are visible damages on the batteries, please do not use. Always keep, store and transport the rechargeable cells in a safe, non-conductive container in controlled environment. We recommend that you pair these coils with e-liquids that have been blended for sub-ohm vaping. Ideally, any e-liquids that have been mixed with a concentration of 70% VG or higher will yield the best results and maximise the life of the coil. Shop the SMOK TFV18 Sub-Ohm Tank, featuring a 7.5mL capacity, utilizes native TFV18 Coils, and compatibility with the TFV16 Mesh Coil Series. Constructed from durable stainless steel, the TFV18 Tank offers a impact resistant chassis. Holding up to 7.5mL of eJuice within the bubble glass, the SMOK TFV18 Tank can be filled with your favorite eJuice. Offering fully-closeable dual slotted bottom airflow intakes, the TFV18 Sub-Ohm Tank can facilitate both MTL or DL vaping. Utilizing the native TFV18 Coils, the SMOK TFV18 Tank can also utilize the TFV16 Mesh Coils as well.

I still get the same level of noise generated during inhale and in all honesty I’m not quite getting the same level of vapour production as that of the single mesh coil. I could easily recommend the Smok TFV18 sub ohm tank to an intermediate vaper and one that craves power, flavour and bags of vapour production. A semi restrictive setting will provide a smooth, turbulent free vape and provide what I would consider the best flavour qualities. Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary. There’s definitely a difference to the airflow at mid restriction and more of the spicy nature of the e liquid profile pulls through.

I began with the pre-installed TFV18 Meshed 0.33ohm which was rated as ‘BEST AT 100-110 Watts’ but it’s best to break in a new coil at lower wattage.I started at 70 watts and worked my way up to the 110 watts after 10 or so puffs. The vape you get from this coil is a proper cloud lobbing DL airy draw. The flavour is decent but not outstanding, but this coil does favour clouds over flavour, I soon got bored of fogging the street up so it was time to swap over to my favoured coil. The V18 Dual Mesh 0.15 Ohm which is rated between 80 to 140 Watts (140!!!) and ‘BEST AT 100-110 Watts’, again I started low and built up to 110 watts. This was more like it, the flavour came through much better and it was a warmer vape.It was just more satisfying overall.Vapour production was still very high, in fact I didn’t really notice it being any less than the 0.33 Ohm coil.

What Smok has done is further capitalize on the capacity of the TFV18 tank and produced an RBA that looks to be large enough and easy enough to work on. Still a very smooth inhale and the flavour properties hold very well during exhale. Mid Restriction The lardy-glass might put some folks off, but not me as it suits the setup and I really appreciate 7.5ml capacity for high wattage vaping without having to refill every 10 minutes.I also think it helps with juice circulation (I’ve had issues with 2ml TPD glass tanks restricting juice flow).

Smok MORPH 2 and TFV18 Tank Kit

A few years later the TFV8 sub ohm tank hit the market to more favourable reception. Using octuple coils it was capable of delivering fantastic flavour alongside ample vapour production. I really like the metal coating, it’s a very dark gunmetal which has been fingerprint resistant and feels smooth, it also matches the tank nicely. Again, vapour production is extremely satisfying and the exhale is also a very smooth affair but the noise generated by the tri-airflow slightly taints the overall vape experience. Further Restriction The turning tolerances are fantastic and it’s possible to make the very finest of adjustments for finding that “sweet spot”.
