My only down side is the lights which are really cool - my daughter keeps turning them on and forgetting to turn them off so the battery's die quickly and have to be replaced, about once a day since Christmas, I wish they were brighter so that I could notice them and turn them off after she has left, but there might be a lesson in there about saving electricity. This is a Sylvanian Families gift set that includes Beechwood Hall, a 5-room residence, as well as 1 Walnut Squirrel figure, Chocolate Rabbit figure and 2 furniture sets. The removeable floor area between the two sides of the house has been enlarged to about twice the original area, which gives the house a greater feeling of space.

Some of the best features of this building are the ornate (but somewhat delicate) balustrades and large trellis that are cast in brass-colured plastic, the blue and white awning, the blue roof (I like blue roofs now ), and the differntly shaped second floor room extends over the non-courtyard which has a balcony. I thought about putting a beaded curtain there, but then I thought "it's always sunny in Sylvania, who cares about the door?

Eric brings up a good point about the Courtyard Restaurant in that it seems silly to have a door between the two upstairs rooms, but no door between the one room and the outdoor balcony. Especially considering it doesn't come with any furniture or dolls (which is fine as we have a near mountain of stuff that's suitable but that might be an issue if you don't have other Slyvanian Families stuff.You will be able to use it for this purchase if you qualify for Instant Spend, otherwise you will be able to use it for a later purchase when you activate your card. Beechwood Hall has 2 working lights which can be operated individually, and these required 2*AA batteries which are not included. There’s also a wrap-around balcony and a reversible floor panel that can be used for extra living space, or as a gorgeous garden area.
