About this deal

The imagery it evoked was like a heavy, wet stone covered in moss, sitting confidently near a river in the forest after a heavy thunderstorm. The fragrance feels airy, breeze (oceanic), exotic, fresh, slightly green, slightly leathery, marine, masculine, modern, natural, salty, woody, and pleasant. Issey Miyake's L'Eau Bleue D'Issey is fairly similar, a simple, straightforward aquatic with some herbaceous notes which I feel give it more personality than this one. It has that Aquatic smell that it's really nice and then it dries down to a sweet note, besides that, it's just a bit boring and not very versatile outside of hot weather.

The seaweed note adds that authenticity with a slight bit of saltiness, but nothing too overpowering (again, for me), the neroli and grapefruit add to the overall juiciness and freshness and are blended smoothly into the mix, and the woody amber base is there but not that prominent, which I think is what makes this so much more appealing as an aquatic/marine scent. I will say, it has a childhood familiarity to it in the sense that it's as if I've smelt this before years and years ago. These fragrances are often constructed in a different manner to the traditional French Model and are formulated in one single burst. Peut être que je n ai pas eu de chance sur la série achetée mais le parfum reçu est très faible et vaguement chimiquement frais.

In more descriptive terms, it opens with a mixture of salty aquatic and sweeter citrus (orange) notes. The "green-ness" maintains to a degree, but as it dries down you'll notice the lavender and patchouli more. AQVA definitely has that early 2000's sense of manliness to it - trying to be minimal, to the point, and taking itself way too seriously.

Spring is here and Summer is approaching, so I'm really looking forward to wearing this often as I believe that to be the best time of the year for this scent. What really disappointed me with Versace Pour Homme (and any other Versace Frag for that matter) is that performance was terrible.

Good for a beginner looking for a fresh aquatic, as well as the more experienced nose looking for a go-to warm weather scent. It smells more natural, earthy, and almost dirty when put against the clean cut scents "freshies" seem to go for. This is a true aquatic, meaning there aren't just salty marine notes but there is also a unique seaweed note in this that you can pick up. I'm not a huge fan of the seaweed note because it gives it a stinky vibe but idk I might enjoy it more with use.I had heard wonderful things about Aqva--thay it subverted the boring, same-y-ness of aquatics, that it was interesting, and even that it was the only good aquatic. Eau de Toilette (EDT): EDT’s are not as highly concentrated in oils and elixirs as an EDP or Perfume would be and contain one to three per cent of fragrance oils. For me though, watery notes, mandarin orange and grapefruit are the most noticeable notes, without having any off putting aquaticness to them that seaweed tends to have.

But this is one you spray on for your enjoyment, when you don't care if anyone else notices or compliments it. Bvlgari Aqua pour homme marine has a natural freshness of the ocean with posidonia oceanica seaweed, neroli, grapfruit, rosemary and whire . I was gifted a bottle of this around 2010, at first I thought it was a strange smelling brew but then quickly grew to love it's oddly compelling nature which really made me think of the deep blue sea like no other fragrance. This is a fairly linear frag but as that God awful seaweed note fades and a light musky amber steps up, it becomes very pleasant. It's noteworthy in that it's quite prominent, but along with the neroli, citrus, amber and cedar, it works, though I normally associate rosemary with baking. This smells great at the first spray, clean and fresh, but after a while the salty and fishy smell start to emerge, salty plus fishy, well, some might said this is the scent of the ocean, but it makes the impression of the sweaty man who works in the fish market to me. It would be too easy, based on a cursory application, to see the opening as just a typical citrus aquatic.
