To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. To get to the next island the captain must roll a number of dice to discover the dangers the ship will face on its journey. Since it can accommodate up to eight, I usually only play it with large groups and younger players like my nieces and nephews.

Each round, a new captain of the trip takes charge and rolls dice to discover the challenges that they will face: fog, lightning bolts, killer birds, or pirates! Play continues with the captaincy rotating between all remaining passengers until the final island is reached, or the ship fails on its journey. If the captain cannot overcome the events on the dice, he plays no cards at all and the aircraft crashes.The “alternative route” card allows a reroll of the dice of the captain’s choice after all passengers have spoken. Celestia is a competitive bluffing game in which you compete to acquire loot while navigating perilous skies.

Said player rolls a number of ‘challenge’ dice equivalent to the difficulty of reaching the next island on the journey. Celestia is an odd entry into the push-your-luck genre because while it does involve playing the odds, the game is almost more about playing the players. For each "City" tile, Shuffle the correspondingly numbered treasure cards and place them in a face down pile next to the "City" tile.If the captain cannot face all the events, he plays no "Equipment" card at all and the aircraft crashes with all its passengers. Incan Gold is similarly pure, offering a simple binary that allows even new players to understand what they’re faced with.
