Both of these additions cost peanuts in manufacturing costs and I could have modified one to do this anyway. Split point don't seem that bad on mine, and I routinely split most every bit from 1/2 on down to about 1/4 or more.

I don’t know about their cost, but it looks like replacements are available if you should need them. Yes, it's a lot of fiddling to get small bits lined up, but I spent one evening and probably sharpened 200+ drills, and they definietely work better than they did. I suppose they will change the user manual but not what it says on the outside of the box or their advertising. The tool relies on a permanent-magnet motor that produces consistent power, regardless of speed or load.I'm torn between 4 and 5 stars on the rating because the bits I sharpened weren't quite as good at drilling as factory sharpened bits, but I think with some practice and learning the tool's quirks my sharpening will probably improve.
