About this deal

his recovery felt too easy, it happens extremely fast even tho majority of the book is him struggling w alcohol use. She never gave Cal a chance to explain once she overheard his conversation with his brother's over the inheritance. I really loved The Fine Print but wasn't impressed with Terms and Conditions, so I guess I was hoping for the best but expecting the worst.

I enjoyed reading about his relationship with his brothers, their other half's, particularly his friendship with Iris and Declan's continuing character development. She spends her days juggling mom-life, reading, blogging, planning date nights with her husband and working as a nurse.

I'm the Kane brother everyone gossips about - trust fund brat, washed-up athlete, high-functioning alcoholic. the tropes were the very basics of the story to the point where when a friend asked me what tropes were in the book, it took me a few minutes to reflect on them because the book didn’t rely heavily on the tropes at all. We never got a follow up on what happened to Lana's sister 4 years later in Cal's extended epilogue. The first three chapters were the hardest to read as it kept going on and the flashbacks made no sense.

They are both hurt from their past and can’t let it go, but at the same, they can't stay away from each other. Unfortunately, readers aren’t given full context of their relationship before they got together, while they got together, and after they ended it. When they finally decided to act on their feelings, Cal wasn't at his best moment, everything felt like a mess (except for their love) and things ended up badly. Obviously from prior books, I knew of his problems going into this last one, but since he does not go to rehab until the last 80% of the book, his addiction reads as the sole villain of the story.

The woman voice actor reads like she’s at gun point and on the verge of tears when it doesn’t make sense. I was a little disappointed by this end book, but I think it was more because I loved ‘fine print’ SO MUCH more, it was beyond my favourite with the characters so it was much harder to beat. Also, Alana says she wants to help Cal but also doesn't really offer much support for fear she and Cami are going to get hurt. I know billionaire romances come with their own kind of dramatics but that is also the best part of this too.

Let me tell you, Cami (Lana’s daughter) is a little spitfire and had an adorable way of stealing the show from either Lana or Cal. Little dose Cal know that Brady was a sneaky man who had more puzzle pieces than Cal expects, and when he shows up to the lake house for the first time in years, he finds out that none other than Lana had actually inherited half of the lake house. Cal would rather sell it sooner rather than later, but relents knowing that this would be the only way. it meant the books were too long with very little happening because everything was given away too early in the first few chapters of both books. Cami swindling Cal out of thousand and thousand dollars for swearing was truly the highligh of the book for me.Cami is probably the biggest reason that Lana made it through those six years after having her heart broken by Cal.

Now he is forced to stay and make Alana give him a chance to move in for a few weeks, before convincing her to sell the house.Cami sees model boats in Cal’s room, Cal said he did with Lana and Cami begs to do it with him and be best friends. Cal went to Cami to say bye and I cried at this interaction, he told Cami he was sick and needs to get better and will be away for a while but promises to come back. This review felt so satisfying to read and I can only imagine how it must feel for you 😂 I adore this review but girl how did you find the strength to suffer through this entire chonky book?
