There’s a little slop from his fangs onto his bottom lip, and there isn’t any white paint on his lower row of teeth.

Despite his good heart and gentle nature, swashbuckling teleporter Nightcrawler is often demonised for his physical mutations, including his indigo fur and a prehensile tail. X-Cutioner is legitimately not a character I ever considered asking for a modern 6” figure of, even though there was a whole 90s X-Men crossover story titled after him. The tail is pre-posed in a snaking fashion, so no bendy plastic here, however it’s sculpted in a way that really makes use of the swivel at the base, allowing for some varied poses.X-Cutioner, Goblin Queen and that iconic version of Magneto (although not necessarily good iconic) are awesome enough, but throw in the Jean Grey, Cyclops and Nightcrawler, and I am ALL IN for this wave. I don’t feel like it’s hyperbole for me to say that Nightcrawler is one of my absolute favorite figures to come out of Legends in a while. As for articulation, Hasbro graced Nightcrawler with one of the more poseable bodies, which includes the lateral crunches on the shoulders. But first things first, and next week I’ll wrap up this wave with a look at Boom-Boom and the Wendigo Build-A-Figure!

I was going to save the best for last, but truth be told this figure has been waiting long enough to be opened. The legs are ball jointed in the hips, have double hinges in the knees, swivels in the thighs, and the ankles are both hinged and have lateral rockers. However, plenty of other mutant projects are on their way, like the continuation of X-Men: The Animated Series. I have some trivial complaints about there being no teleportation accessories included, the tail being sort of loose (and not bendy! I expected the cheerful head to be my favorite, but in actuality I think the neutral expression works well for pretty much any situation.

The upper upper torso uses red plastic to get a bright red than the lower parts of the body, but the colors look good overall.

One thing that’s a little weird about this release is that this is an action figure of an actual member of X-Force, being released as part of the X-Force Marvel Legends series… in his non-X-Force classic costume. Marvel Legends X-Men 97 Wave 1 turned out to be a terrific surprise in the latter half of 2023, bringing us what many fans consider to be definitive versions of several iconic mutants. That was a terrific figure that stands the test of time, but Hasbro was finally ready to release their own Kurt Wagner this year! I was a big fan of his growing up, mainly because he looked cool and I thought teleportation would be one of the best mutant powers to have.
