About this deal

Now … whilst it’s not recommended, and I certainly do not recommend you do so, I have in a pinch used my Mu Classic to charge my iPad and iPad Mini. The foldable design makes it an ideal travel companion, ensuring you can stay connected no matter where you go. They mention that it is a very neat and compact unit for pocket or bag, and that it's so clever and skim.

Lastly the plug-in also has a wet-dry mix control, so you can do instant blending and parallel processing. When unlinked, the plug-in's Mid/Side processing is actually improved over the hardware, providing phase accurate stereo imaging.I have spent several weeks using it to charge both my phone and my laptop (or should I say MS Surface-wannabe tablet) and I can honestly say the convenience of it is a real breath of fresh air. Praise has already been lavish: design magazine Wallpaper lauded Choi’s initial innovation said that, “fed up with the scratches the bulky plugs made on his laptop, [Choi] has created a flat-pack plug that is ideal for mobile devices.

Three different hardware versions of the Manley Variable Mu have lived in my gear racks since the ’90s. Similar to what we found with the Massive Passive plug-in, the most noticeable difference between the hardware and software was in the 3-dimensionality of the low end, more than the high end “air” like it often is with other plug-in models. Amp charger, unimaginatively named the Mu Tablet, that has “an embedded auto-detect chip enabling the Mu to identify the device being connected and, in turn, deliver the device-optimum charge.Pulsar Mu allows to define an external sidechain input, as all compressors should in the digital age. This Mu will be ‘one production run only,’ with a signature printed design on the case, and then the Mu brand will be put out to pasture forever.

Short circuit protection, current protection, over-voltage protection, over-temperature protection, and overpower protection You'll be reassured with the UMC301 superior protection system designed to keep your device and its contents safe. Some electronics manufacturers even expressly warn about charging devices on the wrong amperage – but Mu have you covered. If you’re looking for a 1 Amp charger, to use with UK plugs for a device you charge via USB, then the Mu Classic is an excellent choice that has served me well. Knowing that we had a trip to the States coming up, but also wanting to have a pocket-friendly charger for domestic UK travel, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to put it through its paces.

This opens a very wide range of applications: ducking, de-essing, filtering the sidechain signal with your favourite EQ, or even applying dynamic processing. But its raison d'être is on the mix bus, where its expert features can unify your mixes with a rich, hi-fi fit and finish. Mastering: The most classic use of Mu is in mastering: it brings the discreet "polish" and "glue" to subtly warm up any mix.Great for anyone that travels and needs to carry a USB-C mains charger for laptop/MacBook and/or 18W fast charge on iPhone/iPad plus other devices. According to Justin, the Manley UA models are the main reason he bought an Apollo Twin, so he could master and tweak projects in progress on the road! Its classic dual-triode gain reduction design is constantly re-biased by the sidechain control voltages, creating a unique variable gain compressor with stunning transparency. The British plug is a permanent fixture in millions of power sockets around the country – unchanged since it was designed after the Second World War, it’s a cumbersome chunk of plastic that is now far fatter than the laptops, phones and even televisions it powers. Another – and perhaps the most common – is their ability to add cohesion or “glue” to buses, whole mixes and masters.
