And while friends may come and go, a good board game like Baffled will more than last you a lifetime. As well as these, players may also be able to ask others about the locations of certain tiles (or the tiles of certain locations) or have to name two or as many as three mystery tiles/spaces for a reward.

The downside of this, however, is that more seasoned game-enthusiasts may see the game as being too shallow, and not having enough for them to sink their teeth into. In just 60 seconds you must memorise the position of the twelve symbol tiles…BUT prepare to be Baffled as the symbols constantly swap and change positions around the board! The covering pieces are lifted off the symbol tiles and the players have 60 seconds to memorise the positions of the symbols. This award winning game includes a board about the size of a Monopoly board; 12 symbol tokens and lids to cover them; life cards so you can keep a close eye on how many lives your opponents have too; plus a Baffled dice.

I will definitely be getting this out to play when we have friends over, it's a game that doesn't last for an age and is great for a variety of ages. What's in the box sounds a great idea :) We're not big on strategy games, but noisy fun games like that are right up our street.

The winner isn’t the person who knows the most but instead it’s the person who tries the hardest to memorise the tiles. As is fast becoming our measure of whether a family board game is good or not, discussion soon turned to whether my mum would enjoy the game. The game really encouraged turn-taking and the children also helped each other out when they struggled, which was lovely to see. This could be three fruit, three numbers, three animals, or the three things that are in your colour group. Game overview: you have 60 seconds to memorise the position of twelve symbol tiles; the symbols constantly swap and change positions; you have to find symbols, name them, swap them or test other players; the winner is the last player left in the game.

Lots of truly amazing games with lots of depth are great fun to play but require lots of homework and an equally ‘read-up’ and captivated group of players to enjoy.I’m a big fan of board games so I’m really pleased that my tweens seem to have my enthusiasm for them too. For example, say you land on the apple symbol you uncover the tile you think it is, if you are incorrect you lose a life and once they are gone you're out of the game. It was only when a few weeks later, on a wet January afternoon, I begrudgingly pulled Baffled down from its untouched spot on the top shelf to play with my family, and was met with the epiphany that I had completely misjudged this poor game.

This version could build the confidence of a less able player until they are ready to play the full version. We cover cultural events, family days out, and eating out in Newcastle, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, Durham, Teesside, as well as travel, short-breaks and holidays further afield. A cleverly designed family game that develops memory skills and gives children and adults an equal chance of winning!Everything is done very professionally with this company and always lets you know every step of the process. There is also a square where you can ask one of the other players to either find a specific symbol, or say what is hidden at a specific position – but choose carefully, because if they get it right, YOU lose a life! We were particularly impressed that the game even suggested strategies to help children (and grown ups) remember the tiles. Memory games are well known for being good fun, but combine the excitement and mystery of a memory game with the rules of a board game and it’s even better.
