Description

I decorated the Bakewell with a gorgeous Christmas wreath, made form sugar paste holly leaves, glacé cherry ‘berries’ and a dusting of edible glitter for a bit of Christmas sparkle.

Whilst the tart is cooling, make your frangipane by first creaming together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Ingredients Wheat Flour (with added Calcium, Iron, Niacin, Thiamin), Sugar, Vegetable Oils (Palm, Rapeseed), Glucose Syrup, Plum and Raspberry Jam (Glucose-Fructose Syrup, Plum Purée, Sugar, Raspberry Purée, Gelling Agent (Pectin), Acid (Citric Acid), Acidity Regulator (Sodium Citrates), Colour (Anthocyanins), Preservative (Potassium Sorbate), Flavouring), Water, Icing Sugar, Mixed Coloured Sugar Pieces (Sugar, Water, Colours (Titanium Dioxide, Chlorophyllin), Glucose Syrup, Glazing Agent (Shellac), Colouring Foods (Extracts of Radish, Blackcurrant, Lemon)), Skimmed Milk Powder, Whey Power (Milk), Dried Egg White, Soya Flour, Salt, Emulsifiers (Sorbitan Monostearate, Mono- and Diglycerides of Fatty Acids, Polysorbate 60), Dextrose, Raising Agents (Disodium Diphosphate, Sodium Bicarbonate), Milk Proteins, Preservatives (Potassium Sorbate, Sulphur Dioxide), Humectant (Vegetable Glycerine), Flavouring, Colour (Lutein) Nutritional Information Typical values per bakewell (43g): Energy 870kJ/192kcal, Protein 1. Really helps out a single Dad of 2, kids still get good quality branded snacks, and keeps me away from resorting to food banks. Be mindful that the tart will shrink whilst in the oven, so you’ll want to leave a bit of height on the edge.

A light shortbread base is topped with a generous layer of brandy mincemeat and smothered in almond brandy frangipane. A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that we put on your computer with your knowledge and consent. Once the tart has completely cooled, mix the icing sugar with 1-2 tablespoons of water until you have a thick but pourable consistency. Food products are regularly improved and the ingredients/nutritional information may occasionally change.

A Bakewell Tart is such a classic traditional British recipe that I thought I’d try baking with a festive twist using Christmas jam instead of traditional raspberry jam for a lovely festive twist with this Festive Bakewell Tart. A light pastry case filled with a layer of fruity plum and raspberry jam, moist almond sponge and soft icing. Pastry cases with a layer of plum and raspberry jam (9%) and almond flavour sponge (18%), topped with fondant icing (30%) and mixed coloured sugar pieces. This twist on a traditional bakewell tart recipe is a classic almond topped tart with a frangipane filling but you can also top it with glace icing and decorate it with cherries for an iced tart or festive Cherry Bakewell instead. For the icing, mix the icing sugar with enough lukewarm water to create a paste thick enough to coat the back of a spoon. If you are not completely satisfied, or if you have any questions or comments, please retain the packaging and contact our consumer care team. But you can also have it for dessert and it’s perfect for taking to a festive gathering, school bake sale or dinner party.

Mincemeat 38% (sugar, apple puree (apple, acetic acid), sultanas, glucose syrup, currants, water, vegetable suet (palm oil, sunflower oil, rice flour), mixed peel (orange peel, glucose fructose syrup, sugar, potassium sorbet, SULPHUR DIOXIDE, lemon peel, citric acid), modified starch, brandy, mixed spices, BARLEY malt extract, flavour, orange oil), plant butter (plant oils (sustainable palm, sunflower, rapeseed), water, sea salt, fava bean preparation, emulsifier (sunflower lecithin), natural flavourings), WHEAT flour (calcium carbonate, iron, niacin , thiamin), sugar, ground ALMONDS 6%, semolina ( WHEAT), flaked ALMONDS 3%, water, brandy 3%, orange zest 2%, sugar dusting (dextrose, WHEAT starch, vegetable oil (palm, rapeseed), salt, vanilla flavouring), natural ALMOND flavour, raising agent (diphosphates, sodium carbonates, WHEAT Flour (calcium carbonate, iron, niacin , thiamin)), salt. Pastry Cases with a Layer of Plum and Raspberry Jam (9%) and Almond Flavour Sponge (18%), Topped with Fondant Icing (30%) and Mixed Coloured Sugar Pieces. With toasted almond flakes and a dusting of sugar snow, this traybake looks just as good as it tastes. Carefully transfer the dough into the tin and press, using a spare piece of dough, into every corner of the tin.

Made with light pastry cases filled with a wonderful layer of plum and raspberry jam inside of an almond flavour sponge, topped with soft icing and decorated with sprinkles. You can make your own pastry case for this Christmas tart but I like to use ready made ones to save time – plus I’m a little bit useless at making pastry!

To ensure that you have the most up-to-date and accurate information, it is essential to read the product label rather than relying solely on information provided online. Mr Kipling trade marks, designs and logos appearing on this pack are owned by the Premier Foods Group.

You can also make your own pastry case but I like to use ready made ones to save time – plus I’m a little bit useless at making pastry! I thought this would be a great alternative to mince pies but if you’d rather, you can use normal jam for a classic bake like a traditional bakewell tart from Bakewell or you could even use mincemeat for a real festive taste. We track calories and 7 key nutrients - carbs, sugar, fibre, protein, fat, saturated fat and sodium. If you have the pastry making skills needed then feel free to make your own tart case using all the classics – plain flour, sugar, butter and a well used tart tin all on a lightly floured surface!
