About this deal

They're one of the largest and most respected brands in coffee and have perfected appliances for coffee enthusiasts looking to achieve delicious espresso at home. I've been getting quite lot of contact recently from people with varying levels of visual impairment seeking advice on what might be the best bean to cup machine for them, so I put some time and thought into trying to figure out what might be the best machines to consider if you're visually impaired, and the Gaggia Brera is one of the best options, in my humble opinion.

Our range of Gaggia machines showcases 80 years of tradition and experience, allowing you to create barista style coffee from the comfort of your home. Please note: During the 'dialling in' process, a small amount of the complimentary coffee will be used. Enabling this type of cookies will let you use our live chat plugin and thus receive help from our consultants. It dispenses steam to prepare gorgeous cappuccinos, latte macchiato and more, or hot water if you prefer teas.

To begin with, I found it a bit weird not having a physical knob for steam and/or water, as it's just what I'm used to – but once I got used to pressing a button instead, it was fine. Be aware that we cannot assume responsibility for missed collections by the courier, although such instances are rare. The same is true of the long coffee button, pressing the button will give you whatever volume you've set it to, using the dose selected, and pressing it twice will give you double the volume using double the dose. It's very simple to use, and the tactile buttons make it a great machine for anyone who doesn't have perfect vision as I've mentioned. With our Gaggia range, you’ll find the perfect machine for your needs, whether it’s a bean-to-cup machine or an espresso machine.

The setup and demo experience will guide you through all the initial setup of the machine and its operations as well as 'dialling in' your new coffee and teaching you how to make your favourite, barista-style drinks recipes at home, including and introduction to lattte art (where the correct steam wand is available). Coffee grinding begins as soon as you press either of the coffee buttons and adjusting the grind has to be done while the coffee is grinding, by twisting the grind dial.

It means you can keep your brew unit nice and clean, without having to break out the tool kit and take your machine to pieces, you literally just pull it out, wash it, push it back in – even I can do that!

I’m thinking of going from a nespresso machine to a bean to cup and have looked at various machines and makes. If you hear a whooshing, roaring sound, you're over aerating the milk, you'll end up with more old school think foam that way, so just lift the jug up until you hear hissing, paper ripping type sounds. The other plus for us being in a very hard water area is that you can install a water filter directly into the water tank, I’m hoping this will help extend the life of the machine. To set the volume for espresso and lungo, you press and hold the button, and press the aroma strength button (which also has the tick icon) when you've got the volume you'd like for that button. When you turn the Brera on, it defaults to three bean, and you simply press this button to toggle first to pre-ground (to allow you to use the grinder bypass chute, for pre-ground coffee) and then to toggle through the dose settings. Warranty TermsThe warranty begins on the date of purchase and expires at the end of the period indicated below. The grinders on most bean to cup machines (certainly most domestic bean to cup machines, the same isn't quite the case with commercial bean to cup coffee machines), grind fairly coarse in comparison to the grind size for traditional espresso, the brew pressure is higher, and the ratio is also usually higher.
