Not v-shaped, but I think if you can combine all I have said with the FR you will see it can seem a bit v-shaped. I think that the signature fits well with rock and metal too, as Athena has outstanding detail and reminds me a lot of the Zeus headphones made by the same company, and as they share a common house sound, I’m really curious to learn more of their products. The bass is tight and controlled, with excellent detail, providing a pleasing sense of warmth and depth without overwhelming the other frequencies. The bass is a central element in the sound of the Ahena headphones, as they have a warm, smooth and clean bass that extends as low as 30 Hz, providing a good substance and fundamental energy for music.

if you need an amp that's a good sign you are encroaching audiophile territory or someone put some hungry drivers into a poorly made product lol. This approach reminded me of the ZMF Verite's intentionally recessed upper mids, which aided realism. clarity: The sense of separation and detail is barely passable, particularly in the bass and mid-range. We listened to more songs than those named in this playlist, but those are excellent for identifying a sonic signature.

The purpose of this review is to help those interested in HarmonicDyne Athena Headphones find their next music companion. Many headphones struggle to balance the spicy cymbals against the rich piano here, but the Athena nails this satisfyingly, if not perfectly. The HE400SE is a lot more resolving, more tightly controlled, extends deeper, impacts more (somehow), and smoother in general with a larger soundstage. The grip force is enough to create a complete seal (important for bass in particular) but isn’t so grippy as to be uncomfortable. Midbass is not the cleanest, partly due to that sensation of reflections but also in part to the fact that the dynamic driver is not the fastest to react to busy passages. If people purchase the Athena based on its advertised claims, I’m fairly certain they’ll be disappointed.

The extra bass creates a very warm and relaxed ambience, reminiscent of the Beyerdynamic T1 Gen3 (in fact, the overall sound signature is strikingly similar). The build quality is about equal, although the B-60 looks much better in person and it is similar to SIVGA Oriole in design, while Athena looks less premium. Once open we are greeted by the headphones sitting inside some foam cutouts, with an accessories box at the top and in the center we get a brass coin that has the company logo on one side and Athena on the other, along with the serial number. i'm really loving these headphones, the low bass is good and not over powering, these work really well with a balanced cable (didn't even use the standard cable just with tripowin cable), comfortable to wear.
