Description

A cult gin from Mahon in Menorca, Xoriguer (pronounced sho-ri-gair) is one of the only gins in the world alongside Plymouth to have a geographical indication, Gin de Menorca. Beers of Europe strictly adheres to these regulations and by agreeing to our Terms and Conditions on checkout you confirm that you are over 18 years old. A short stint in oak barrels just before bottling adds an extra measure of smoothness, giving this gin a unique, aromatic edge. Main gin product is smooth and refreshing, exceptional quality and there are some further liquors and flavoured variants to try.Enquiring from a po-faced cashier at the airport, I was informed that the absence of the product was due to a shortage of bottles. Xoriguer’s floral and aromatic nose, together with its warm and herbaceous notes needs a sharp citrus kick from a chunky piece of freshly cut lemon peel, some crushed juniper berries to enhance the main ingredient used in the distillation process and a crisp tonic water like Schweppes 1783. The floral notes come to a head in the flavour, with spices carrying the drink to a new level, smoothness ruling throughout. The green handled bottle makes it stand out from the crowd but it’s the perfumed flavour and orange-rich character which really make this gin sing. Overall worth a look, another thing is they have bottles of everything they make open to taste with little sample cups to dispose of.

Our flat was a two-minute walk from the Xoriguer distillery facing the spectacular harbour of Mahón. The name of the gin was chosen in honour of the old windmill used for successive generations of the Pons family, which now appears on the labels of their bottles. It's amazing how a drink I've enjoyed in the summer has lost it's charm inside a centrally heated house in the middle of winter, when traditional London dry gins are far more refreshing. Nice to see how they produce this famous Menorcan gin, which was introduced by the British in the 18th century.Xoriguer Mahon Gin is produced in Menorca , in the port of Mahon , for over 200 years with the same recipe. Add the Xoriguer gin, then the tonic pouring it very slowly over a bar spoon to avoid losing all the carbonation. USING THE SAME CENTURIES OLD RECIPE, OUR GIN SINGS OF OUR BREATHTAKING ENVIRONMENT AND ENVIED WAY OF LIFE. Our courier was an experienced lady who lived on the island so very knowledgeable and funny with it.

We recommend that you do not rely solely on the information presented here and that you always read labels, warnings, and directions before using or consuming a product. You wouldn’t know it from the nose as it’s light and unassuming but once you sip you’ll taste the depth of sweetness within this bourbon alongside the toasty alcohol burn.

Wild Turkey 101 has been aged for eight years at a much higher proof than they’re traditional bourbon.
