David McKee has written and illustrated over 50 picture books for Andersen Press and has penned a number of children’s classics including King Rollo, Mr Benn, Not Now Bernard and Elmer the Patchwork Elephant. After over thirty years, a brand new Mr Benn episode was screened for the first time on 1 January 2005, on Nick Jr. On leaving college he drew regularly for Punch, Reader’s Digest, and The Times Educational Supplement.
