Devin brings to mind a cloudy day in spring, just after the rain; when the leaden sky makes the new growth look fluorescent green by contrast. I also have no idea what Devin originally smelled like, so it's weird that both perfumes have been formulated to smell alike. This one is unique stars spicy herbal sweet i like the opining of it it's like herbal sweet pepper however there is some nots you feel it's hard to tell very will mixed . Bernard Chant is sometimes credited with creating Aliage, sometimes not, but I believe that it was reformulated after he died. I have both the original Aramis for men and Aramis 900, in my opinion if you own those, Devin will be redundant.

Be warned however that this is probably not for everybody, it is a masculine scent that is more authoritative than all this metro-sexual hodgepodge that a lot of companies throw out these days.This classic fragrance comprises of top notes of lemon, orange, bergamot, lavender, artemisia, aldehydes and galbanum. I may eventually sell or swap off some of my other leather scents because this one may be the ultimate for me!

The word "classic" has been mentioned 33 other times so far in the review, and it comes as no surprise. Yet JHL, with its blowsy, floral side, makes a much more interesting perfume to my nose than Cinnabar on which it’s based. I remember the Devin Country ad campaign had jeans and country suede jacket guys out in the rural landscape, while I was wearing beat-up black leather jackets and all the late 70s urban rock regalia. The young lady assisting me stretched the rules and gave me a set that was supposed to be a GWP with a different purchase (she made an empathetic comment about understanding what "just starting out" was like). Overall, Devin is well executed and really does stand apart - but it ultimately lacks the easy class of Aramis or the bold funk of 900.
