About this deal

The Kaweco Ebonit Sport is made from ebonite, one of the most popular materials for making fountain pens in the pre-plastic days of the early 20th century. The Kaweco Sport was first designed in 1911 as a pocket fountain pen which could be carried everywhere.

While the name of this new series might sound wintery, the FROSTED Sport is a must-have for the summer with silver accents, light colours and fresh names. Kaweco was founded in 1883 as the Heidelberger Federhalterfabrik (Heidelberg dip pen factory) with the Kaweco name being first used in 1889.

As my collection grew, I eventually packed the pen away, but it still sits near the top of the list of my favorite pens of all time. Sporty styling, vintage packaging, unique colours and exacting German manufacturing are the hallmarks of the Kaweco rollerball pen range. Choosing Keeping holds the largest range of Kaweco pens in the UK - indeed we have built a long-lasting friendship with the beloved Gutberlet family who run the company with so much brains and gusto.

Kaweco are well known for their Sport range, designed with a short hexagonal appearance that is a joy to hold, and a unique push mechanism. The Kaweco Sport range includes fountain pens, rollerball pens, ballpoint pens and mechanical pencils. Most of the designs originate from a time when clocks went slower and craftsmanship was still a tradition. All of the Kaweco products are tried and trusted made with love and a definite cleverness all the while using modern materials and colours. While the cap may back weigh the pen, the nature of the design means the rear of the barrel will rest on the crook of your hand, so the balance point is not really an issue, just the weight if you like light pens. The Kaweco Sport long ago solidified its status as one of the best pocket pens available, and most of the attention (deservedly) falls on the fountain pen version of the Sport.

The Kaweco Sport pens use the lid as the barrel - so while they're compact while closed, they become a full size pen once open. It isn't necessary to apply silicone grease to the colored AL Sports, as the anodized aluminum is more resistant to galling. The fountain pen in a classic design made of high-quality plastic, is available in historical colours: White, Black, Clear, Green, Bordeaux and Red. Während sich die extrafeine Feder (EF) besonders gut für eine kleine und feine Handschrift eignet, wird die extrabreite Feder (BB) oft für große, dramatische Unterschriften genutzt. As with all Kaweco Sports, you will struggle to use the Bronze Sport without posting the cap, well for more than quick notes anyhow.cm tall when closed and therefore could be easily carried with you, but reached a normal size of 13 cm with the cap attached. Kaweco continues to develop their products showcasing the quality and design as they release special editions for events such as the 20th World Olympic Games, this helps them gain popularity amongst large companies who appreciate the quality of their pens. I will note that the current version best approximates the vintage Sport ballpoint, like this one I have in my collection.
