The Winsor and Newton genuine single-pigment colors have some organic granulation going on, but since the Sakura Koi hues are presumably synthetic imitations, they are smooth and more opaque, like inks. Inside is a small pallete to mix colors with, two small sponges, a water brush, and 30 pigment cubes. Unfortunatly because of this compact space there really isn't any room for when you wipe your brush over one colour you have to stop halfway otherwise you'll go straight onto the next [this isn't a problem if you want two tone and the blocks are easy to clean.

Keep these larger sets close by in your studio for a quick splash of color and to create deep washes for backgrounds. The water flow is slow and deliberate, but if you don't have that sucker lefty tightened all the way down then water will come out of the seam and not the brush tip.
