About this deal
If you apply Nemaslug in the early autumn you will reduce the number of slugs laying eggs and consequently reduce the new population emerging in the spring. The nematodes ((Phasmarhabditis Hermaphrodita), seek out the slugs and attack the pest by entering natural body openings. You can download the instructions for applying some Nemasys products including Nemaslug using a hose pipe. If you have crops like strawberries and tomatoes growing, slugs will chew round holes in the fruit as well as the leaves.
Nematodes are capable of surviving the odd frost; so don't worry if the temperature falls after you have applied Nemaslug.Nemaslug is less effective on cloggy clay soil, which has not been worked and/or has become waterlogged. Apply Nemaslug Slug Killer 6 weeks before harvest, when the tubers are most likely to be eaten by slugs. We offer two sizes, a 12 million pack to treat 40 square meters or 30 million pack to treat 100 square meters.
The treatment only lasts 6 weeks, and to be really effective you have to make sure the product is used before the stated date. Nemaslug works at temps above 5c/40f, so apply UNDERGLASS all year round OR apply OUTDOORS during the growing season i.
Nematodes are particularly effective in damp, wet weather unlike pellets which can become less effective when wet. Our range of slug and snail control are all organic with no threat to children, pets, birds or hedgehogs and will not introduce chemicals to the food chain. Treats small to medium gardens up to 40 Square meters so your flowers, vegetables and fruit are left for you to enjoy and not the slugs. One application of Nemaslug provides 300,000 nematodes for every square metre of soil, giving at least six weeks control of slugs. I’ve been using nemaslug for some years now and the number of slugs each year is constantly diminishing so I think it must be effective.
One application of Nemaslug will provide at least six weeks control of slugs, we recommend that you re-apply every 6 weeks for the ultimate protection from slugs. So you can delay applying Nemaslug till 6-7 weeks before harvest, when the tubers are most likely to be eaten by slugs. The nematodes need to infect the slug, this may take a few days, the slug will then stop feeding and die. Unlike some controls, Nemaslug continues to work well during wet weather - exactly when you need protection against slugs! We supply packs of microscopic beneficial parasitic nematodes (eelworms) which are watered into pots or open ground with a watering can or hose.
