Description

When using the headset with your PC, as opposed to a PS4, there is extra functionality available by installing the Corsair Utility Engine (CUE). This is Corsair's software for customizing its peripherals, and for the HS70 options include turning on 7.1 surround, selecting and adjusting EQ profiles, tweaking mic volume and sidetone (which adds the sound from your mic into your headphones, assuming you don’t hate the sound of your voice), and it also shows the percentage of battery power remaining.

The HS70 Pro Wireless connects through the included USB Bluetooth adapter to the Sony PS4/PS5 and PC, but will not work on the Xbox One. The connections are made instantly and you are notified by a voice telling you that headphones are on and have connected. After I set everything up and turned it on, it just took a few seconds for the headset to be recognized by either my PC or PS4 (whichever the USB dongle was plugged into). On the PS4 I had to go in to the audio devices settings to change the output to headphones from only chat audio to all audio. When testing it using the "chat only" option for my PS4 I found the HS70 wasn't fully sound isolating, but they covered my ears enough that with game sounds coming from my home theater speakers I missed a good bit of detail, thereby not utilizing the headset to its full potential.Unfortunately, the detachable microphone is short and feels rather cheap. It allows movement in every direction but is only 5.5 inches in length. It isn’t long enough to be placed directly in front of my mouth and hangs to the left.

The design for the HS70 Pro Wireless are a clear-cut winner. They come across as more professional and sleek than the Void RGB Elite Wireless, which have a much more exotic design. The HS70 constantly holds a solid connection at my desk. However, that isn’t the case when I move around. The G Pro X is compatible with all devices, while the HS70 is only compatible with PC, Mac, and PlayStation. The headphones are supported by a plastic mold with a safety belt that prevents the headphones from shuffling around. The headphones come out of the mold with ease and aren’t squished in. They are also covered with a plastic film to prevent scratching which is a must if plastic is used rather than foam for protection. There is a rubber cover for the mic port, although it isn’t attached and could very easily be lost. The microphone arm takes a firm press to attach fully and sits snugly in the port. The arm itself articulates very well and always kept the position I set. The lone button on the right ear cup is for turning it on or off, so there’s no worry of accidentally turning off the headset while you adjust volume or mute the mic.

The headband is very durable and shows great resistance when stretched out but is still bendable. The aluminum yolks that connect the headband with the ear cups are also top quality and I’m not worried about breaking them. On top of this, the hinges on the headband are metal which are of a quality that I haven’t found on other pairs of headphones. The 7.1 surround sound was distinct and useful in telling where footsteps, reload sounds, or shots in the distance were coming from. Explosions didn’t drown out the mids and the highs, and even when situations got chaotic, I was aware of my surroundings.Because of its 2m PC/console cable and secondary mobile cable, the G Pro X is compatible with all devices. Also included is a Y splitter for separate microphone and audio ports on the PC. Close up look at the cables and USB external sound card that enables the Logitech G Hub. Both ear cups are made of hard plastic and feature a metal ring with the Logitech and League of Legends logos on each side. The aluminum joints that connect the ear cups and the headband appear extremely strong. The headband is flexible but still provides solid resistance. Corsair HS70 Pro Wireless Both headphones perform similarly on console. In fact, they’re nearly identical, resulting in a tie. Overall Winner
