Types and styles are as varied as their are designers to make them, and then some. Kaftans are colourful or monochrome, patterned or plain. They are available in any combination you can imagine. But the most important thing to remember is get something practical. That is not to say that they are not beautiful garments. Kaftans are every bit as gorgeous as any other kind of swimwear. But they are also there for a purpose. You need something that is comfy and shields you from the harsh rays of the sun. So when you buy a kaftan, make sure the arm length is exactly what you need, or that the length keeps your thighs covered. A lot of this is down to preference too as the temptation to cover up too much can make you feel stifled. And if you a diligent with your sun screen, you might only need a smaller kaftan with less coverage.
