If you are chasing image quality perfection on the PS1, then you should use the beetle PSX core in retroarch with a CRT-royale kurozumi shader. For reference, here's the pinout I use to connect all my systems to my monitors. A single common pinout means I don't need a seperate monitor cable for each system. Note: The Wii console supports Dolby Pro Logic II for simulated surround sound. If you have a surround sound stereo and wish to use this feature, you'll need to configure the Wii console to use surround sound. Complete these steps Gigabit Ethernet 1000BASE-T (IEEE 802.3ab) 8P8C connector following TIA/EIA-568 wiring standards with support for Auto MDI-X, which means Cat 5 and Cat 6 cables can be used without the need for special crosscables.

Once the cables are inserted and the Wii is powered on, find the Input Select for the TV to view the game. This is typically found by pressing the TV/Video Button on the television's front panel or remote control. If there is more than one input channel, keep pressing TV/Video until you see the display from the Wii. Insert the colored connectors on the Wii AV Cable into the input connectors on the TV. Plug the colored connectors into the following inputs: Insert the colored connectors on the Wii Component Video cable into the input connectors on the television: Settings vary depending on supported formats. For details, refer to the instructions supplied with the audio device. Some PlayStation®2 or PlayStation® format software titles may perform differently on the PS3™ system than they do on PlayStation®2 or PlayStation® systems, or may not perform properly on the PS3™ system.

Insert the colored connectors on the Wii AV Cable into the input connectors on the television. Make sure you are plugging the connectors into the holes labeled Input or In. Holes labeled Output or Out will not work. Plug the connectors into the following inputs Proprietary audio/video connector used by Sony on many devices, e.g. Sony TVs, Sony consoles Playstation 1/Psone, Playstation 2/PStwo, PlayStation X/PSX, Playstation 3/PS3. Adjust the system's audio output settings. These settings are mainly used when the system is connected to audio devices that support digital audio output, such as AV amplifiers (receivers) for home entertainment systems.

Note: supported since 3.50 and not available on SDTV (480i/P & 576i/P) resolutions / output connectors. If you change the audio output settings, the system will no longer be able to output audio from multiple output connectors at the same time. For example, if your system is connected to a TV via an HDMI cable and to an audio device via a digital optical cable and you switch to [Optical Digital] under [Audio Output Settings], audio will no longer be output from the TV. To output audio from the TV, switch the setting to [HDMI], or select (Settings) > (Sound Settings) > [Audio Multi-Output] and set the option to [On]. Linear PCM 2 Ch.] audio is set to be output from all output connectors by default. If you change the audio output settings, audio will be output only from the connectors that were set. If a device that is not compatible with the HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) standard is connected to the system using an HDMI cable, video and/or audio cannot be output from the system. SyncBaby is a compact and efficient SNES AV Multi-out to VGA D-Sub (with 3.5mm audio-ouput) for your Super Nintendo to output 15Khz (240p) RGB.The PlayStation 2 can do VGA through this port, however it is software controlled, and since there aren't enough pins for H+V Sync, it uses Sync-On-Green, which not all monitors support. Insert the plugs on the Wii AV Cable into the input connectors on the TV. Plug the coloured connectors into the following inputs:

Utilize a proper monitor that can support this signal natively. Generally this includes most CRT equipment, professional broadcast gear, and some specialized modern LED/TFT/VA flat panels. Once the cables are inserted and the Wii console is powered on, switch your TV to the channel you use to watch movies. Put in a video tape and play the movie. When you see the movie playing, press stop (do not power off the VCR) and proceed to the next step. All SNES units are compatible with the SyncBaby without modification; with exception to the SNES Mini/Jr units, which were some of the last SNES units produced and were a smaller than normal form factor (they were more rounded, and not boxy looking). These specific models will require modification to properly use this device, as they do not natively support RGB output. See the photo below for a comparison.
