Description

Hot Rod was only available as a part of the "Planet of Junk Clash" set with Wreck-Gar and Junkion Scrapheap. Like all Micromasters, he features a notch in the base of his feet that allows him to peg onto Micromaster-compatible bases and stations. Just behind the inner tray you’ll also find the instruction leaflet, which documents both the transformation and various other features the figure has.

As the lower legs and knee joints rely on friction to hold them in place, you could disconnect them while posing if your specimens' ball-and-socket joints are slightly tight enough.

Autobot Hot Rod also features orange-yellow paint on his vehicle headlights, and an Autobot sigil on his vehicle hood/robot chest, just like his Henkei and Reveal the Shield figures. The arms have a disheartening tendency to spontaneously break at either pinned section of the shoulder joint, while the upper ratchet in the knee has a high likelihood of shattering, either rendering him only durable enough to transform a few scant times. Along with added transformation steps, Hot Rod's new tooling makes him substantially taller than the original mold taking it from being one of the shorter Deluxe molds to being one of the tallest Deluxes in the line. He grew angrier as she continued to try and escape, and on the way, he scanned and upgraded into a new Lamborghini Centenario vehicle mode.

A mod can be done to fully extend the legs exposing these knee details, though, the figure does become rather tall and looks somewhat strange proportionally with them fully extended. Strangely, unlike the case with Bumblebee, this does not appear to be a consequence of using Josh Nizzi's original concept art (at right), which depicts Hot Rod using distinctive vehicle parts from an M4 Sherman tank. Unlike the original toy which separated into a robot and a battle station, the entire vehicle mode of the 6-inch Titanium version transforms into the robot mode. Before we move to final production, we have a big team meeting where we all come together and look at the figures and deco before approving them.In this case, it is the shot of Hot Rod about to open the Matrix as he stands within Unicron's innards. He is a simplified toy that can auto-transform from an unlicensed approximation of a Lamborghini Aventador (rather than a Lamborghini Centenario LP770-4) into a Voyager-sized robot by pulling out the arms first, and then flipping the figure over itself. There was some back and forth, references shown on both sides as to what colors he should be and this is how he ended up. This reissue of Hot Rod followed the trend begun by earlier reissues of Optimus Prime and Megatron, and offered the most "complete" version of the toy available by including all the accessories that had come with the different releases of the figure through the years.

His paint additions include the waist, which is entirely painted over rather than letting some of the transparency show through, and the center portion of the spoiler, which is now painted over yellow instead of unpainted orange plastic. Following the disappearance of Optimus Prime and the impending awakening of Unicron, Burton tracked him down and told him the time to recruit Viviane to fulfill her destiny had come. No forced gimmicks, no design deviations based on other versions, just a solid G1-inspired figure that could even rival the Masterpiece when it comes to accuracy. Released in Series 2 of blindbagged Tiny Turbo Changers, The Last Knight "Autobot Hot Rod" is a small soft-plastic transformable figure based that changes from robot to luxury sports car in a few simple steps. com/transformers-toys/gallery/smallest-transformers/hot-rod/1704" target="_blank">
