View image in fullscreen ‘It was a limitless time, as if anything could happen’: Nick Grimshaw wears green wool suit by Giuliva Heritage at matchesfashion. Because, yes, this is a man who first became famous in the early 2000s for being papped falling out of parties with friends like Harry Styles and Kate Moss, a man who would present his breakfast show after staying out all night, his hangover kicking in as most people were settling down to work.

I’d speak about the fear I was going to be murdered in the house, that Edward Scissorhands thing, this feeling of looking over my shoulder.Things that are too London for the Grimshaws include, but are not limited to, yoga, oat milk, therapy and drinking a glass of water. It was always Heartbeat that made me feel down that it was the end of the weekend and I still get that feeling today sometimes, although Heartbeat is long gone sadly. If you’re a fan of Grimmy or even if you don’t really know much about him - I definitely recommend you read this or listen on audible. I remember having it on in my room constantly as background noise because when you're too young to go off on your own and have to stay at home, it's like having another friend. He's "too much" in a world that needs it because at least he's himself - I don't think he'd have lasted so long at Radio 1 if he wasn't. I'm not really bothered about autobiographies because there's not really any celebrities I'm obsessed with so I just get bored after a while. When I was at school, I was super conscious of how I spoke or how my hands moved or what my references were. I wasn't a fan before reading, that's not to say I didn't like Nick but I hadn't listened to or seen any of his Radio or TV work and I knew very little about him. It won’t change the world but if you want to sit and have a brew and a chinwag with Nick Grimshaw this is the book for you.

It's a collection of stories: stories on life, loves, death, fears, obsessions, nights out, growing up and making dreams come true. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. I particularly enjoyed his chapters discussing his love of dance music as a young kid through the 90s and his Camden London life in the noughties and the high time of brit pop and Cool Britannia.

From his move from Oldham, Greater Manchester, to the bright lights of London, to his 14-year career climbing to the helm of the Radio 1 breakfast show, he’ll discuss everything from his love of music through to self-care, partying, life-changing nights out, growing up, Red Nose Day, coming out, dogs, family, ADHD, Catholicism, and all that he’s seen in-between.

I haven’t enjoyed autobiographies or memoirs that much generally but I liked everything about this Soft Boy personal story. All these worries plait themselves into the otherwise extremely starry stories he tells in his book.
