Description

StarSense Explorer uses patented technology and your smartphone to determine exactly where the telescope is pointed in the night sky. A Lost in Space Algorithm (LISA), like the ones satellites use in orbit to correctly orient themselves, helps the app match star patterns it detects overhead to its internal database. While other astronomy apps may claim that they can help you find objects, they rely exclusively on the phone's gyros and accelerometers, which aren't as accurate as LISA technology. No other app can accurately tell you when your target is visible in the eyepiece. The Heritage Skywatcher 100 P telescope is a super light and convenient grab and go scope that is perfect for your first unit. But don’t be fooled by the low price, this scope really holds its own out there. The high quality 100 mm parabolic optics lets you see the bright planets and moon as well as other distant nebulae and star clusters.

The BT252 10″ Dobsonian features an 10″ (250mm) diameter parabolic mirror with aluminium coatings providing ~93% reflectivity providing bright detailed images. The telescope’s optics and long focal length will provide night after night of great observing performance. You can expect sensational views of celestial objects like the Moon and planets, plus with its considerable light grasp you can delve into more distant treats such as cloudy star forming nebulae, globular star clusters and galaxies far far away. When choosing the best telescope you need to pay attention to the aperture. If the telescope features a larger aperture it will be able to collect more light from the sky and therefore provide you with a clear view of the faintest celestial objects. Why Should You Buy A 10-Inch Telescope? One trend I noticed with the SkyLiner 200 P Parabolic Sky Watcher telescope is that almost every newbie astronomer couldn’t stop gloating about how wonderful the telescope was. Beginner stargazers love the model because not only is it super easy to use and set up, but it offers great cost savings as well. More experienced consumers had a few things to add, but all in all, everyone was satisfied with the power capabilities of the 200 P. Should You Buy It? A cooling fan mounted to the telescopes main mirror cell to achieve faster cool down of the optics. A telescope will produce its very best performance when the optics have cooled to within 1°C or so of the ambient air temperature. To help this process our larger telescopes are fitted with 12V battery powered cooling fan helping the mirror come to equilibrium faster.Optical Coatings: XLT reflective coatings with silicon dioxide and tantalum pentoxide protective overcoatings for primary and sceondary mirrors

and finally elation . FIrstly , thanks to you guys at FLO .. i've been a persistent pest in bombarding you all with questions over the last two weeks and every time you have replied courteously .

Telescope Field of View Simulator

Well, compared to all the other Dobson telescopes we’ve looked at, I can confidently say that what the Skywatcher HERITAGE-100P Tabletop Parabolic Dobsonian Telescope does best is saving you money. Even without looking though the eyepiece, it’s clear that this here model is the cheapest one on the list. The 10" mirror sits at the end of the OTA in an adjustable mirror cell. When it comes time to make adjustments to your mirror for precise alignment, use the included Laser Collimator and then tweak the mirror's position in the cell with the hand-adjustable knobs. No tools are needed except your hands! So with this particular telescope, you can catch the Crab Nebula M82 and M81 in near full moonlight. Most other scopes will just struggle at such light levels. In fact, if you can find some darker skies to peer into, you can view the Double Cluster in all its glory. The 200 P telescope has actually been used to see clearly as far as Saturn. This includes a clear cut Cassini Division, the distinct colour differences between the rings as well as five of the moons orbiting this beautiful planet. Flaws But Not Deal Breakers Naturally, budget dobsonian telescopes are usually a hit with novice stargazers and even kids. So most customers were very pleased with both the low price range as well as how easy the model is to set up. Another factor that people can’t stop talking about is how light it is. The telescope is small and light enough not to be an inconvenience. However, experts and experienced stargazers couldn’t help but notice that the scope keeps shifting and needs frequent refocusing and you also can’t quite see Saturn’s rings. Should You Buy It?

Like its smaller sister it has an interesting design that includes tube-rings, large radius altitude bearings and a large 2.5” R&P Hex-Focuser. It is important to be patient as sometimes even in imperfect conditions a few minutes here or there of good seeing is not uncommon. While you should not expect to see NASA level multicolored spectacular images when visually observing, the thrill of seeing even the slight color visible with the naked eye is still very exciting. But if you can take the telescope to an even slightly darker location, more objects will become visible. With this 10 inch Dobsonian and relatively dark skies, hundreds of fascinating objects are well within your reach. Now, while the Orion SkyQuest XT8i Intelliscope is a super advanced piece of tech, there are a couple of things they could have improved on. For instance, if you’re going to install a computer on board, why not make the thing motorized? Sure, there are 14,000 preset locations, but you’ll have to actively push your telescope through each and every one of them. Still, it’s a whole lot easier when the telescope knows where it’s pointing. What Other Customers Think Still, the manufacturer did quite a job of balancing a lower price range that is sure to attract beginners with higher performance that is also sure to deliver impressive views. And lastly, the 100 P must be the easiest and most convenient model to operate. With no counterbalances, messy tripods, and annoying stands, it really is a grab and go. Flaws But Not Deal Breakers StarSense Explorer uses patented technology and your smartphone to determine exactly where the telescope is pointed in the night sky. A Lost in Space Algorithm (LISA), like the ones satellites use in orbit to correctly orient themselves, helps the app match star patterns it detects overhead to its internal database. A wider angle eyepiece will allow you to see more in your field of view, I recommend 60-80 degrees. This will make it easier to see things as you explore the night sky by sweeping with a low power eyepiece then switching to a higher power eyepiece to see the object more clearly. I came to conclusion that a Newtonian Reflector on a Dobsonian mount makes a great first impression for beginners over a refactor telescope. I was now set on getting a Dobsonian and it was difficult choosing between the 6, 8 and 10 inch and basically it boils down to... bigger is better. A 6inch Dob is probably the cheapest to go with and easy to carry around but a 12 inch or more is probably going to be too large for a first timer and difficult to move in and out of the house, also slightly outside my budget.

The best thing about this 10-inch Dobsonian telescope is that it comes with an observing kit that features additional eyepiece and three different color filters that each highlight specific details on different celestial objects. That means that you will be able to choose at which magnification you want to observe the desired object.

OVER 60 YEARS OF INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY

Due to the difficulty of manufacturing a 10-inch refractor telescope, you’ll find a mostly 10-inch reflector telescope selection. This includes popular choices like the TPO 10” Truss Tube f/7.9 Ritchey Chretien Reflecting OTA Telescope, a lightweight and thermally stable powerhouse that uses its aperture to the fullest extent while eradicating image shift. Other 10-inch Newtonian telescope options include manual and computerized Meade units, which occupy the lower end of the budget range while providing tried-and-trusted quality. At the other end of the spectrum from a 10-inch Meade telescope are high-end AG Optical reflectors, which can capture deep-space exposures with stunning clarity.
