Formulated with coffee extract and GreyBlend ™ technology, Defy Grey Brunette Blending Shampoo gradually blends away first greys by infusing warm brunette tones into grey strands for a naturally blended brunette look. I have been using this set for the past 2 weeks so far however I don’t wash my hair daily, I believe to date I have used the products 5 times. In hindsight I probably should have taken before and after photos, I forgot to so sorry I don’t have that for you.

Hair is left soft and manageable. If, like me you are trying to hold off dying your hair for now, give this a whirl. Amazingly it didn’t take long for me to notice a change in my look – definitely after the second wash, my greys were no longer silver but warming to a soft caramel. The sharp metallic glint that best resembled sparkly lametta on a Christmas tree was now gone; in its place, an interesting colour palette of textured browns. John Frieda’s latest game changer comes in the guise of the new Defy Grey haircare system. A range of home use products comprising a shampoo, conditioner and blow dry foam, Defy Grey promises noticeable results after a single wash, thanks to its revolutionary blending coffee extract formula. The foam itself doesn’t have a scent and is a light beige in colour. Make sure to wash your hands after applying to the hair or it will stain your skin ! It is easily spread throughout the hair, although I did concentrate on the front of my hairline as this is where I have most Grey’s. Im just not sure the blonde shade does much for my complexion, plus I'm really interested to see what my grey looks like!Overall I am impressed with this range of products, I haven’t seen anything else like it before. I am happy with how it has left my hair feeling, there is a slight improvement in the shine that my hair has. I do agree that it adds nice rich tones to the hair and has definitely helped to blend out where my hair has grown out from my last dye job. The reason I'm nervous is not liking the results of some highlights/lowlights I had done, don't know which, just for a change. I asked for a caramel shade, thinking it would be a lighter shade of brown than my own, but it just looked red. We tried again next time after the first grew out, with another shade, but that looked red to me, too. I hated it and it really didn't suit me. All I can say is that it has been an unmitigated disaster. The hair that was white has all gone really bright yellow. I have washed it what feels like a thousand times in Head and Shoulders but nothing has happened apart from the yellow looks like it gets brighter to me.

So, I used the John Frieda Defy Grey shampoo and hair mousse twice in a misguided attempt to see what my hair would look like without so much grey hair ( my hair is pretty much white all around my face now as I have been growing it out for a few years). The information again is the same for this product. The directions for this product are as follows :-A friend uses a kind of colour felt tip thingy to colour in greys but a) that sounds a lot of faff to do daily and b) I don’t know if it would really be doable on hairs that are white all the way along the strand. Hers are greying from the temples so easier I think to daub a pen thingy over little sections in that scenario but not sure it would work for me. If you do have the first signs of grey or would like to prolonge your dye job I would definitely recommend this range and am glad that I got the chance to try it.

We all have goals in life don’t we. One of my more trivial goals was to get to 40 without dying my hair. I made it, and I was thrilled about that, but I still didn’t really want to get into that routine of having to dye my hair.I don’t wash my hair all that much – once a week, or twice if I’m particularly enthusiastic about my self care. So over the following month (and several washes) my regular hair care was replaced by the Defy Grey. Going grey is one of life’s quirks I could happily go without. It serves no purpose other to remind me that time’s getting on – I’m getting old– and even though that message has been coming through since my early twenties, it’s never hit harder than now. I don’t like having grey hair, I just don’t have the patience or sanity to deal with it. If I could just wave a wand and become ‘brunette me’, I’d do it. Maybe I’d look a little less broken. I don't want all over colour and I definitely don't want to go darker. I'm quite happy with my natural colour but I dont suppose my stylist will be able to match it exactly. I guess I'd like some lights dotted around, maybe a shade or two lighter than my own, to blend in as much of the grey as possible. I don't want it to be glaringly noticeable as it grows out, either. I'm not brave! I've got to 50 without feeling the need to colour my hair and I'm really quite apprehensive. Colour depositing conditioner specially designed to blend away greys and reveal brilliant brunette hair. Brunette Blending Blow Dry Foam

I hate the colour my hair invariably goes with dyes or semi permanents. Hate it. I like my natural colour! Both my parents, despite being dark-haired we never really that grey. Neither of them ever used hair dye and still only had a few greys. Their deaths certainly gave me a few of my own, but I’m still at that stage where I can pull out the odd one and get away with it. The same goes for the conditioner in regards to directions, leave on 5 mins for the first use and 3 minutes consecutively. Upon washing the conditioner out the hair feels very sleek and smooth. I do think this will be great to prolong my dyed hair for a few more weeks in-between dyings and I will continue to use it . It does leave my hair looking healthier and more manageable. Apply liberally throughout wet hair. Lather. Leave on at least 3-5 minutes for the first use. Leave on up to 3 minutes for each subsequent use. Rinse well. To tame and blend away wiry greys, follow with Defy Grey Conditioner. For optimal grey blending results, finish with Defy Grey Foam.
