The setting is very atmospheric and characters are well portrayed. Legends, secrets, buried treasure and artefacts, family, romance, murder and betrayals are all part of this story. An amazing amount of research must have been done in the writing of this book and yet it all flows seamlessly without feeling there are information dumps. Anyone who enjoys a historical story with interesting characters and setting should enjoy this one.
