The idea of going barefoot on the Earth or using products that have a similar effect is no longer in the realm of new age or esoteric ideas. It has also received considerable attention from the academic and clinical research community. Studies have found that our body goes through significant measurable changes when we are in connection with the Earth. If you don’t have access to the book (which explains thoroughly the science and a whooping +100 testimonials of relief from different ailments) then here’s the documentary (I have yet to watch it though): So I came to this book with an open but very sceptical mind and with the attitude that I would have to see a lot of impressive evidence and solid logic to be convinced that this concept was worth bothering with and worth supporting.

A pilot study evaluated diurnal rhythms in cortisol correlated with changes in sleep, pain, and stress (anxiety, depression, and irritability), as monitored by subjective reporting [ 13]. This book is akin to telling us that oxygen is vital for living: walking around on the earth is good for you. And don't forget to breathe while walking.
