The Incredible Edible Network was set up in 2012 in response to the huge popularity of the original group in Todmorden and the flood of enquiries from those who wanted to embrace it’s aims.

Since its emergence, the Incredible Edible idea has spread to hundreds of communities around the world. The aim of the project is to educate students about growing fruit and vegetables and to increase their knowledge of food origin and quality. Some volunteers are experienced gardeners and some come as complete beginners - there's always help and advice available. So it wanted to see if there was anything else we could try that we couldn't get in the supermarket, and this book surely delivered!

I was expecting something that I could read before heading to the garden centre for inspiration, a general guide with commonly used edidble crops. It strives to engage with schools, local farmers, and businesses by sharing knowledge and passion for food growing and cooking. Work at the moment involves preparing the beds for planting, sowing seeds and growing and harvesting them. uk along with those Incredible Edible groups who contributed, support from ESS – COMPASS-group, UK and Ireland, and the many Incredibles worldwide who share the same vision.

Incredible Edible was born in Todmorden in 2007 through like minded people coming together with a common aim, to create kind, confident and connected communities through the power of food.
