Description

I brush the saw off at the end of each day's use, then vacuum to remove sawdust in hard to reach places. After far less than half a year, rust started forming on the rails and some of the screws. (The screws are coated for rust protection (resistance??).) This saw offers a lot of features for a lot of people. However, the manufacturer had professionals in mind when they designed it. Let us now discuss the benefits of MAKITA LS1018L. The benefits are explained below for your convenience; To ensure the utmost accuracy, Makita have fitted the LS1018LN/1 with a laser guide rail and offer a max bevel range of 45 - 45 º to really get into those intricate cuts. Safety hasn't been neglected as Makita have equipped this saw with an electric brake and a soft start function to minimise the chance of the blade causing injury. Weighing in at 20.6kg this product is surprisingly lightweight and is sold as a single unit.

Out of the box, you have to set up the Makita for accuracy, which is bloody unfortunate. It would seem tedious, but must be done. You must align the blade to the table top and the blade to the fence. There are some videos on you tube and this one is really helpful https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGQmHPS4nU0All small-scale maintenance projects involving repairing window frames, laying laminate floors, and sitting can be completed efficiently due to MAKITA LS1018L’s presence. You will be flabbergasted to discover the pull function of MAKITA LS1018L, which is realized by the double tube. The roller bearings are joined to the rear swivel joint through this tube. You can never produce any low-quality blur works while using this saw. Specifications Product A safety brake is built-in the machine to avoid any harm to yourself while operating MAKITA. The push-button is required to be continuously pressed while using the saw; if by any chance the push button is deactivated, the engine brake will turn off the machine, and the saw blade will become stationary. In this way, the risk of any chance of injury to your hand is minimized.

Even still it doesn’t perform as good as say the Bosch CM10GD, but it does well enough. Just keep your expectations low and you won’t be disappointed! (seriously though, most miter saws dust collection is a joke) Versatility – this saw handles most jobs – but not all But at the decent price and low weight, the do-it-yourselfers can still reap great benefit without spending an arm and a leg. And to conclude my Makita LS1018 review I would add this: The saw literally has great features for just about any type of user. And while it doesn’t quite have the vertical board cutting capacity of the Dewalt DW717, it still has a decent fence and can handle most crown molding and baseboard jobs. This is one of the lightest 10″ sliding compound miter saws. It’s got enough features that there are lighter saws out there, but they still did really good with weight management on thismodel. As with all saws the bag is useless and actually should always have a vacuum attached. Also the laser is hard to see when working out in the sun. But c'mon, it ain't gonna chill your beer for you. Double sliding rails with linear ball bearings on each rail ensures a perfectly smooth and accurate cut Miters 0° - 47° left and 0° - 60° right, with positive stops at 0°, 15°, 22.5°, 31.6°, 45° (left and right) It goes beyond standard on its miter capabilities, plus it’s a dual bevel, meaning you can change the angle of the blade instead of flipping the workpiece over. Contractors tend to love this feature.
