Both fragrances are for after hours, and used sparingly, for way after hours, though for date night I'd give Oud Mood the nod. I can really say that its clone of replica by the fireplace because it dont have that smokiness that by the fireplace has. The scent opens up with a sweet, smokey vanilla praline/chestnut accord that lasts throughout the wear. Starts out like pure Oud almost too strong of an oud for me, like that Hugo Boss Damask Oud yet it is sweeter and the wood feels like it was burned with sugar so it is tolerable and very manly, then quickly moves to a smokey incense smell and then softens down to vanilla perhaps or is it tonka bean, these people are geniuses in the ability to create such an orchestration. In that regard I would say that Ameer Oudh Intense oud is its own fragrance - and as such I'll review.

The first spray is awful, mostly smelling of alcohol (guessing this is a perfume that needs to mascerate for a bit) but regardless, it's simply not a dupe at all. I have dry under-performing skin, but the "average" total performance--based on the ratings above--looks to be about 9 hours longevity and 2-3 hours solid projection. i put it on before going in to bed and when i wake up i can smell it like i just sprayed it on me just now. I say go for this one, unless you’re after that burning wood scent, which is definitely perfected in BTF.I bought it because I fell in love with By the Fireplace in Sephora and saw that this was a cheap dupe. I would imagine this smells like a female camel in heat that just rolled around in a pile dung near a burning bush a male camel just pissed on to mark his territory before smashing.

The three generations of the Sheikh family take pride in the portfolio of perfumes and fragrances developed at Lattafa that expresses personality, generates lasting impressions and arouses positive emotions. I mean, I do, and will again, but when something is this good and this cheap, it really does make you think. I don't think this is a direct substitute for BTF, but if you like that and would prefer something that's less focused on the campfire smell and more towards say, caramel or sugar, you'll like this. initially it smells sickeningly sweet, like you just threw vanilla and lots of brown sugar on burning oud, slowly even adds some dates-like smell to add on to the unfathomable sweetness, but with time the wood notes comes out and a little cinammon too, kind of balancing it out to instead be just a sweet perfume which lots of people can easily pull off.

I wouldn't say it's more male or more female, just unisex but not that easy to pull off (only for the colder months). I use it as an air freshener simply because I have Encre Noire A L’Extreme and that one gives me exactly the complex woody fragrance I need. But as of right now, I'm of the opinion that this is not a BTF clone but, instead, its own inspired fragrance. Close to By The Fireplace, as other’s have said it has the middle but missing a bit of the sweetness.

And the combination of temperature differences, long travel AND a lack of maceration (or just not long enough) in Arab perfumes makes sure you *could* - here too there are happy exceptions - initially miss out on top notes (always first to be damaged), sweet base notes, or just get a cloud of alcohol and then little else. I already gave this a review but after months of maceration and trying lots of layering combinations, I can say this increases longevity of other woody, spicy or leather scents when used as a layering agent. Ameer al oudh intense oud is a really good sweet, woodsy fragrance with that subtle scent of roasted marshmallows when drying down. It's at this stage that the fragrance is most similar to BtF, when both fragrances are in their far dry down.

I think this perfume is really really great, and will wear it this coming summer, as often as I want to. This from beginning to end is a gorgeous, sexy, Smokey, vanilla, scent that lasts 6-8 hours on skin and until you wash it on clothes. This has a large projection and if you walk into a room wearing it people are going to start looking around wondering if someone is burning incense.

I cannot detect oud nor vanilla (at least at first, not sure how this develops as I couldn’t even bear wearing it for 5 minutes). It’s probably my fault that I did not listen to the reviews saying this is more of a male scent, but since I love all the notes mentioned (and I expected it to be heavy on the vanilla), I blind bought this one. However, Aoud Vanille is more complex and has stronger performance, with an oud-ier presence up front. as for the silage i have gotten no comments on it that would imply to me that others can smell it, i get a whiff when if i am bending down to reach for something, i would say it has an intimate silage at least on my skin. That said, BTF is one of the highest quality designers I've smelled out there, and while AAO can't meet that bar, it does smell verry verry pleasant. This fragrance here is a toned down, lighter, fresher, safer and more mass appealing version of BtF.
