About this deal

Not only was it good, it was impressive, the whole CD sounded so raw, yet polished, that you would think that the Monkeys had been established for years.

I love this album for the guitar runs, especially on the B side, and the guitars in particular are extremely clear and isolated. The only thing I have against this album is that I don't think of it as quintessential vinyl material- there isn't a great deal of difference in the vinyl and the digital versions. Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not became the UK's fastest selling debut album, selling more than 360,000 copies in its first week. The debut Arctic Monkeys album is, as we all know, one of the finest debut statements in rock history. Keeping you in the loop with what is happening in our world - records from Domino Mart, news, discounts and exclusives. Despite their tender years--or perhaps because of them--with 'Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not,' Arctic Monkeys found a new and unique way to chronicle the rushes of youth, and in doing so created a classic take on a stage of life we all experience.

and “God Smack” give Layne Staley a chance to explore a vocal arsenal that encompasses bluesy wails, unholy screams, and. the boys may share a love of the smiths, the clash and the jam, but in no way were the monkeys ready to simply regurgitate the well-trodden brit-rock path. Due to inventory and accounting purposes, we do not exchange items received for different items than originally purchased. Within the course of a year, the band rose from the ranks of an Internet phenomenon to the biggest band in the U. All four members of the Arctic Monkeys were a little bit shy of their tenth birthday at the time, a bit young to be sure, but old enough to have Oasis be their first favorite band.Especially if you are a fan of the Arctic Monkeys' newer albums as this album tops them all in my opinion. I understand the Oasis one a little better, as they are a more recent band, and Whatever People Say I am, Thats What I am Not has a similar quality to the first two Oasis albums, in that its hard to believe a band can burst onto the scene already sounding this polished and this distinct, and drop an album that is so solid front to back.

If you enjoy rock/indie music - you will surely love Arctic Monkeys, and this is where it all started. hence the razor-sharp lyricism that fuels songs like a certain romance, a witty observation of small-town life where theres only music so that theres new ringtones and where going out could sometimes mean having a pool cue wrapped around your head. Because after fine-tuning your taste over a lifetime, trusting someone else to curate your record collection can be scary. No band will ever be the Beatles, and Oasis have two great albums while the Arctic Monkeys have only released one album to date, and its a totally different style and sound than Oasis. So, it’s little surprise that the Gallaghers’ laddism celebrating nights out fueled by lager and loud guitars is the bedrock foundation of the Arctic Monkeys.Every song is, at worst, above average, while most could make equal claim to single of the year to this point. As catchy as those reference points are, it's the lyrics that have won this band a fiercely dedicated crowd very quickly. From gorgeous album art to world-class listening guides, you’ll find yourself discovering something new every time you listen. containing thirteen newly recorded tracks, some of which have never been heard before anywhere, even amongst the diehard fans trading demos and versions on the internet, this is a remarkable modern british debut. You can hear The Kinks, you can sense The Smiths and a love of the 60s but most of all you can hear The Arctic Monkeys.

Experience the iconic sound of Arctic Monkeys' debut album, Whatever People Say I Am, through the warm and immersive quality of vinyl. The album features the singles 'I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor' and 'When the Sun Goes Down'. Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not is the debut studio album by English rock band Arctic Monkeys, released on 23 January 2006 by Domino Recording Company. It is however, an absolute stonker of an album and I highly recommend that if you haven't heard it yet, that you go and do so!
