About this deal

Even though the war was over and the sisters had suffered unmercifully in the camp, beyond anyone’s comprehension, anti Semitic feelings about the Jews were still present. Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for an arc of this novel in exchange for my honest review.

I can understand how wonderful it would have been for the author to be interviewing these sisters and putting their story to paper, but this simply didn’t resonate with me in any way.I can't say more than that as I don't want to spoil it for future readers so if you want to know you'll have to grab yourself a copy! At the time of my birth, my mother suffered from tuberculosis and couldn’t take care of my older brother and a new baby – we were assigned to public child’s facilities. Based on true events, sisters Cibi, Magda and Livi share a promise to their father that they will always look out for one another. It is interesting that this book doesn't just end with the sister's release from Auschwitz like most other WWII memoirs but carries on and explains how the sisters slowly heal and move on with the rest of their lives. Heather Morris is an absolute legend bringing these stories to life and out into the world and she’s an author that has fast become one of my favourites.

The author did a good job describing the thoughts and emotions the characters went through after tragedy struck. Six million Jews died in the Holocaust; between 250,000 and 300,000 Jews survived the concentration camps and death marches. She told me: ‘It is the same blue sky and sun that is over the death camp and the fields and forests beyond, on the other side of the fence.Three Sisters is her third novel, and the final piece in the phenomenon that is the Tattooist of Auschwitz series.

Each and every time I went to put it down to do something my fingers were itching to pick it back up as I just HAD to know what happened next! As with the first two books, which I was very moved by, Three Sisters details the harrowing experiences of a family during wartime and beyond. I would happily read more from Heather Morris in the future, and I can't wait to see what she does next. Not the place one wants to meet a loved one, but still, they were happy at least to be there for each other. Magda is saved by a doctor in their home town who keeps her in hospital for safety as long as he can before she has to be released.

Overall an absolutely page turning, addictive, gripping and explosive must read that will keep you addicted from the very start to the mind blowing ending! It details how Cibi and Livia had to do anything they could to survive, how they were shown moments of kindness, how they’re love for each other kept them going. Overall, I think this was a well written book, just not in a writing style that I personally enjoyed.
