About this deal

Then David Micheline wrote another issue or two, which admittedly was a little better, but still not very good. In a sea of good things to offer, Miller’s grand feat is probably turning Daredevil into an antihero above anything else. Frank Miller is one of the seminal creative talents who sparked the current gigantic sub-industry of motion pictures featuring comic book- initiated product. Glad I did too because the pair give a very informative take on their run on the book and on the character and even into the comic book industry itself.

Like, he sees everyone literally dressed in a red spandex, 'so tight that you can see what religion people are', to quote a legendary joke by Robin Williams. Sure, there were a few duds here and there, and more than a few missed opportunities that had me rewriting the great Frank Miller in my head, as sacrilegious as it sounds. Waiting for that moment when I needed a guaranteed winner to wash the taste of mediocrity out of my mouth.Since Miller is writing the series, he relied on Klaus Janson who complimented Miller’s art so well, for inking and finishing up his rough sketches. It mostly lays flat and there is little to no gutter loss so I think you will be happy with the binding.

My criticism of his run lies solely with the fact that he wasn’t also providing the story for these issues. Interpersonal relationships were well explored and less lionizing than the typical superhero fare which I appreciated as well. The central part of the story revolves around a fist fight in a movie theatre, with the Maltese Falcon in background.

I'd much rather have Frank Miller break up Matt and Heather permanently than have this on again off again dynamic. Also note that, before Miller came along, the Daredevil comic was floundering on the edge of cancellation. I really love how Miller’s characterization of the Kingpin, especially after the death of his wife, and the whole Death of Elektra story arc. If you get this book you will truly understand what all the fuss about both Frank Miller and Daredevil himself is all about.
