About this deal

I may be too 'nit-picky' but if one i going to make a film based on Christie's novel stick to details. For items that are dispatched using our standard service, we ask that you wait 14 days from the date of dispatch before reporting any items as undelivered. Given when this story is set, a boat full of mainly white males with their suitably period female companions is kind of what you might expect. However, I must initially state that the story in the movie is not an exact copy of Christie's plot. Set in the 1930s, the film follows Poirot as he hunts a killer responsible for the murder of a rich heiress aboard a steamship travelling down the Nile.

After discovering that a number of the passengers had a reason to kill her, Poirot faces a race against time to solve the case before the ship reaches port. Set against a sweeping landscape of pyramids and desert vistas, DEATH ON THE NILE features a stunning ensemble cast.

That said, the performance of recent box office movies that put the woke agenda and identity politics ahead of good old fashioned entertainment may just put you off though. The rest of the cast is solid with stand-out performances by Annette Bening, Tom Bateman, Russell Brand, and Ala Fazal. I have bought this Blu-Ray due to an upcoming release of the Haunting in Venice, which I'm quite excited about. He is joined by an all-star cast of suspects, including: Tom Bateman, four-time Oscar nominee Annette Bening, Russell Brand, Ali Fazal, Dawn French, Gal Gadot, Armie Hammer, Rose Leslie, Emma Mackey, Sophie Okonedo, Jennifer Saunders and Letitia Wright. To this end I must admit I prefer the 1978 film which kept closer to the actual book - had Peter Ustinov as Poirot - together with the double murder at the end! Peter Ustinov stars as detective Hercule Poirot in this classic British crime drama based on the novel by Agatha Christie. Now that Branagh has got these two films out of the way perhaps we can look forward to more Poirots that have not yet been filmed for the silver screen (i.
