If you've ever wondered what's a great scent to combine with the smell of french fries it's Passion apparently. Peach (and apricot) is immediately recognizable, a little syrupy and surely sweet, canned peach, and goes together with the rose (and probably some purple flower), wich give to the scent a soapy dimension. Diamonds and Rubies peripherally offers up the fruitier notes in sweet little sparkles that convey high quality. It’s definitely unique in my collection because most perfumes of today are sweet gourmands, while this is a warm spicy floral. For now I would say absolutely get the perfume because it is a beautiful spicy fragrance but I really don't care for the EDT.

This creation is so unique, it smells like perfumes from other times yet manages to fit in a particular modern aesthetics. The rose is a romantic note in perfume but one never feels like it's a big old bouquet of red roses. The florals lend the fragrance a bit of soapiness and softness that I feel keeps this from being a strict oriental. This is supposed to have the notes I like, but I mostly get this sharp chemical smell almost like rubbing alcohol.

In all, I am just very happy to have been able to finally smell and own this fragrance; I will be wearing it very often. So out of the two I got I loved rubies, I figured I would like emeralds more but nope rubies smells like a nice creamy peach, faint spice and I don't detect rose like listed. I don’t need to add much to the descriptive reviews, I am just going to do a comparison to Nahema and Tentations. I cannot wait till the weather cools and I can rock this is in a long purple caftan, oh hell I’m so sick of the heat. I just bought this because one of the reviewers said it smelled like sun moon and stars by Lagerfeld and I loved that fragrance.

This is not something I can say about Diamonds and Sapphires, which is incredibly powerful on me (all the lily and melon). This baby puts me in mind of a sweetened Kenzo's Jungle L'Elephant, another sultry, long lasting beauty. The scent opens with top notes of Lilac, Peach and Rose, middle notes are Jasmine, Orchid and Spices. The initial spray of this perfume you'll get a burst of powdery floral so powerful that in the 1st few second I began to doubt about it. Probably cinnamon, maybe nutmeg, and sometimes I smell a faint hint of something vaguely like eucalyptis.

It reminds me of a woman who enjoys her femininity, her makeup, her sensuality, using her wiles, using her choices. There is even a play-doh nuance, doll head characteristic abaut it but less pronounced and round then that in Dior Hipnotic Poison and the likes. Diamonds and Rubies derives texture from a powdery rose soap accord, almond, and spice, whereas Hermès Rouge derives texture from iris. My grandmother wore WD so I was hesitant to try this (personal associations can be hard to overcome!
