Such a collection of puzzles does not have to base only on solving them, but some of these books also tell us a story, just like the scenario while playing in the Escape Room. Whilst I’d say this book is aimed towards children in later primary or early secondary years, I found myself personally engrossed in the ever evolving plot with real curve balls thrown in from time to time. Can we escape the imperatives of money, gender and human fallibility to freely construct our own identities – should we even try? This is an intense rollercoaster of a read with an almighty twist towards the end that caught me completely off guard. Midway through the book I really felt that the tension unraveled and a lot of what happens in the escape room is predictable although completely unbelievable.

Also there was a little bit of information that didn’t necessarily move the story forward and was left stagnant and never addressed again.This created some confusion about whether or not this was a deliberate clue that we were supposed to notice. Enter compelling cast, unleash thrills in the form of clues and finish with an unexpected why and you’re good to go. I liked the writing itself, it was an easy read and I found the puzzles and mysteries very engaging.

Yourself and Bob are much cherished in our booky world and I personally really appreciate everything that you do.
