I would bring this book to every single Tuesday show and tell, and I would do it with a big ass grin on my face.

The cadence and the movement of her words pierce the reader’s heart time and time again, creating an almost poetic rhythm to the prose that mirrors the message of those words, but it is with repetition of certain phrases that the author underscores the crucial moments in the story, playing our heartstrings like a true maestro. His popularity with teachers and fellow students alike isn't exactly brilliant; however, a light at the end of the tunnel comes from the most unexpected source. Every smile they share today is the product of years of tears, of years of fighting and struggling and hoping and mourning but never, ever, ever quitting or giving up, because we’re here.

I desperately wanted this couple to work out their issues, but I couldn't blame Kennedy for her bitterness and lack of faith in Jonathan. Not even when he threatens to take your manhood and tells her she’s grounded for the rest of her life.

In this case, Jonathan can take a lot of the responsibility for their issues, but Kennedy made mistakes too. I didn't even get all that emotional, and I think it was because I was waiting for this connection to the characters or a connection to their connection to each other, but I wasn't feeling it. when Jonathan finally reach his stardom, his relationship with Kennedy starts to fall apart and his addiction gets a lot worse.Fighting addiction is hard enough, so seeing him try his best to become clean was just beautiful and heartbreaking to read about. Kennedy left Jonathan because he wasn't ready to be a good father to their daughter but later on Maddie became the only reason they both got back together. Every detail however minute, has relevance in a love story that ticked every box that I look for in Darhower’s quintessential storytelling. Six years later, we find Kennedy back in their little hometown in upstate New York, stuck in a dead-end job that pays the bills and puts food on the table, but also serves as a constant reminder of all she’s had to give up for someone else’s dreams. Every day when she goes to work, lurid tabloids surround her, the face of a notorious bad boy haunting her from their covers.

Up until then, I only saw your anger, but that day I saw your fear, like you were afraid of how much more pain I was going to cause you, when I wanted nothing more than to make it all better. And after a recent incident that left him injured, he’s back home in Bennett Landing sober, and wanting a chance to reconnect with Kennedy and the daughter he’s never known. The result was that there was an omnipresent sense of turmoil, leading to one hell of an emotional rollercoaster ride for the entirety of the book. All thanks to Book Crushin’ for tweeting about it and also for my good timing to see it on my timeline! Her honesty, boldness and innocence will kill you because her words and logic will nail you in the head and heart. I wouldn’t say it was an overly sexy read but it definitely had enough to prove their connection and compatibility. Most of the times I found myself clapping my hands or wanting to pat someone in the back because of her.
